I was checking out my nephew's Nintendo DS and the first thing I thought to myself was, "Wow, I remember when the $300 console systems were trying to achieve this level of playability and graphics. Now, it's in a handheld that's considered trash by more serious gamer kids."

Made me feel pretty damn old, especially when he had to show me how it worked (he's 3).

Anyway, I got to feeling nostalgic and browsing through games of the past I used to play. Who remembers these classics?

Kings Quest was pretty awesome. I remember drawing out huge hand-made maps because it was so old school.

I was on A Link To The Past just the other week. Got my SNES out for a blast. Still an awesome game. Never gets old. Not to me anyway.

Final Fantasy 2 SNES: This game made me fall in love with the FF series.

Final Fantasy 3 SNES: Probably one of the best FF games ever.

Final Fantasy X PS2: Another favorite. Great story and game.

That's one thing I loved about the old school games, they didn't have all the flashy graphics and gameplay, so the storylines had to be epic. The old school RPG games had better storylines that blow today's crap out of the water. Or, maybe it just seems that was because I was younger and more impressionable. :small-smiley-026:

One of my favorites back in the day was Intellivision's Sea Battle. Graphics were shit but it was a ton of fun to play against a good opponent.

I am also a big fan of the Final Fantasy series but for me 7, 8 & 9 were the best of the bunch.

This Ruby Weapon was a major pain in the arse.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World was on the Sega Master System, the Sega competitor to the Original Nintendo. Sega Mega Drive was the Genesis. :thumbsup:
