GoDaddy is saying .Co is the new .Com...

Remember when bing came out saying they were going to be better then google. When bing failed, they had to rebrand themselves as "The Decision Engine." This could be like that. .co, could find a calling, just like .org and .net have.

Pretty sure the only people that call bing a decision engine are microsoft.

If u knew anything about marketing, it's the company who decides what to brand themselves as. That's why they "re"branded themselves as the decision engine. Their original branding was to be better then google.

GoDaddy just paid millions to get their ad on tv for millions

Is your question whether GoDaddy is attempting to sell .co domains or whether the .co domain extension will be successful? Please clarify your question. You are alternating between these two.

Everyone in the thread agrees GoDaddy is attempting to sell .co domains.

Ok, i am aware they are trying to sell these domains, to further their profit, but in result, could this be a hit? That is my question, whether .co's will flourish. I think for anyone to say "absolutely not", is ignorant.

could this be a hit?

Could you please define the conditions that would make .co a hit? For example, please provide a time frame and number of registrations that would make .co a hit. How many Fortune 500s will be advertising with their .co in 2 years?

If this is how you all feel, fine. Not wasting my time on a forum, that is single minded. You all should learn to adapt. This is my advice, do what you want with it.

I agree with what you have said about the .co domains being for sale at GoDaddy. I did check and you have a point so I agree with your statement about the .co domain being for sale. Do you think they will buy? And also - which ones? And also, all of them? Godaddy is selling them now. What do you expect will happen as I am following this closely for the domain names? Yes, mostly.

edit: I just checked again and they are selling them.

Can you please let me know your personal qualifications on this subject? That is, why are you in a position to be giving us advice?

I'm no expert, but I am majoring in Internet Marketing. I'm only about 2 semesters in. I came here to get advice, on what people thought on this. I do not claim to know either end, but i think to shut down either end is wrong as well.

Could you let me know if you followed the launch of any other TLDs? If so, can you please compare and contrast those with .co in this thread?

I wasnt sure if this was a real question, based on all of your other sarcastic remarks, but I will answer it regardless. You cannot track the start of .org, and say how another TLD will emerge. It is not possible, given the rapidly changing interface of our marketing world.
