First off, Dane Cook is a tool.
Listening to Dane Cook comedy is the equivalent of listening to the Backstreet Boys or Souljah Boy......face it, you're a grown man and enjoy the same entertainment as a 14 year old girl who loves Abercrombie and Fitch and has a Justin Timberlake poster on her wall.
:anon.sml:
You have to admit....that's a little f'd up.
Try Daniel Tosh, Todd Barry, David Cross, Dana Gould, Jim Gaffigan, Louis C. K., Mitch Fatel, Patton Oswalt, Robert Schimmel, or Stephen Lynch, to name just a few.
Take this guy's advice....these guys rock....This guy is a fan of real stand-up comedy. Excellent list.
Mix in a little Dave Attell, Joe Rogan, Doug Stanhope, Greg Giraldo, Lewis Black, Mike Birbiglia, Nick Swardson, and mix in some classic stuff like some other suggested like Bill Hicks, Carlin, Pryor, Lenny Bruce.....
Yeah, I know....Joe Rogan hosted Fear Factor....he's much different as a stand up comedian....same with Stanhope....yeah he was on the Man Show for 1 season and in that Girls Gone Wild infomercial....but at least he admits he did it because he's a whore.
Probably best to start with guys like Birbiglia, Gaffigan, and Tosh....then move on to Barry, Hedburg, Cross, Oswalt, and Rogan.....then make the leap to Carlin, Hicks, Stanhope, Schimmel, Bruce.
Or you could keep being a Dane Cook-loving-grown man-trapped-in-a-14-year-old-girls-body-pansy-ass-poser-:female: and move right from Cook to Larry the Cable guy or Carlos Mencia......
