Goods Produced by Child Labor or Forced Labor

I like the high quality of products produced by children. Their little hands can really get the small details right.

shit man these are badass but I didn't check before I bought them are they cool?

There are some exploitations no doubt, but remember that they are feeding mouths which would have gone hungry, or even worse could have been exploited by sexual traffickers... Also how about first world kids doing chores in return for that video game? Or those lemonade stands and selling cookies. Are they any different. This underage kids lie about their age to get a job in a sweat shop.

Are you really comparing 3rd world country labor to chores and lemonade stands? You need to watch a documentary or two.

While I am sure there is some forced labor most of the people working in those factories are there because it is the best place for them to be. In a lot if not most cases it is either work in a factory or starve.

Just like all the crappy manufacturing jobs the people did here at the beginning of the industrial revolution. They sucked a real lot compared to jobs today but looking at their choices back then it was the best game in town. There is and was a reason why so many people flocked to the cities to get those jobs. They were for us back then and are now for those in the third world the best way to not starve.

Should there be force involved? NO. Should we start making it so those factories can not hire whomever is willing to work? NO we should not, doing so will do nothing but end up killing people by taking away their only hope of feeding themselves.

The thought that somehow if we get all those kids out of the factories they will go to school and run around having fun in a park somewhere is so far from the truth it is not even on the same planet. All that will happen is those kids and their families will not have enough money to buy food and either the kids will starve or their parents will through them down a well somewhere.

Agree with everything you said. Even the low paying factory jobs pay a month what they'd earn in a year farming. (src. BBC The Fastest Changing Place on Earth)

Was just noting that one simply can't compare chores and lemonade stands to the conditions they have to work in.

Whats wrong with kids working.. Remember that thing.. work?

Nothing wrong with kids working. But the problem is when it is full time and they miss education opportunities because of that. Educated kid is more productive in the long run.

real nice share.
children do not need to work, and most of these works are not easy, long hours and draining type of works, children should have a childhood, should play and have fun and only suffer as adults - just like the rest of us. At least at that point they will have some sweet memories of childhood to turn to.
work is not for kids.

They are more educated to work as sheeple for their elite masters.

work is not for kids.
Sure it is. Work is productive and character building.

___

Kids work less in a society when the society becomes affluent. Societies become affluent when they have markets.

Governments try to prevent kids from entering the workforce to protect older voters and their jobs.

There has been tons of economic analysis done on child labor, and very little of it jives with the leftist instincts usually on display in threads like this.
