What makes you think this is even in the realm of possibility? Source?
Cenk's film above + logic. I do not claim that it's
PROBABLE, only possible.
The only thing they can do is get this bill changed or temporarily killed which they will be successful at.
That's the blackout. My plan went further to target the bigger problem, and has a tiny chance of working.
What are they going to do? Run adwords ads saying Washington is corrupt?
That wasn't in my plan at all. You seem to have a reading comprehension problem.
Lobbying, campaign contribution, PACs and other bribery are the tools that Google and company are going to use to kill this particular bill.
Source?
If they even tried to stop these activities, SOPA passing as is would be the best thing they could hope for. If they even brought it up you would see bipartisan support all through out Washington to kill Google or anyone else that gets in the way. Washington will win and we would be forced to used Bing.
LOL!
Picture this:
You're surfing off of WF for a moment to buy some ass lube. You head over to Amazon but low and behold, NO AMAZON!
SOME FUCKER HAS TAKEN YOUR ONLINE SHOPPING AWAY!
In it's place there is a 1-2 minute film describing why this is happening, and says to not bother going to google, facebook, twitter, etc., etc, etc today for the same reason.
Sure enough, you are stuck. It SUCKS. You'd log onto facebook or G+ and bitch about it to everyone who listens, but they're gone too!
You're pissed off and bored, can't get much work done, CAN'T SOCIALIZE, and you're looking for someone to blame. Out of frustration you hit the play button on that film and learn how your elected officials are EXTORTING these sites and that it was necessary to band together and fight back... And until the extortions stop, you can expect more days ahead of this "Strike."
BUT WAIT! It doesn't have to be so bleak... Underneath the film a small link says: "Outraged by this problem? Click here."
The link goes to the petition for a new amendment to the constitution or if they don't think that will do enough, a petition for a new continental congress to put an END to this shit.
I'd estimate that 99% of this fucking country, (and 30% of the rest of this planet!) ESPECIALLY the moron facebook crowd, would sign that thing so fast that it would make the net go black for an hour! Naturally you don't want more of these blackouts, so you sign it too.
After you sign the petition there is of course the 'tell a friend' link to make sure your friends know you signed it and they should too.
So, in light of this plan, do you really think they'd fail to get any signatures to make some major changes?
At least enough to get congress to stop extorting them?
In such an occasion, there is nothing at all to do but for congress to officially apologize to them and declare that it was all some sort of misunderstanding to the american people... Goog & Friends would win the round but I might agree it wouldn't go all the way to becoming an amendment.
That really is THE question. I would like to think that your're correct, that they don't have the power needed to dominate totally. Maybe that's the case, but if history is any indication, then it's certainly in the realm of possibility. One thing's for sure.. They are certainly going to TRY. Sooo many things going on that are propelling us in the direction of a straight up fucking policia state.
Yeah, they will try. No doubt about that.
Just in my short lifespan I've watched each president and the congress of the time grow more and more bold. Every single administration did things that were unthinkable during the previous administration... History books show this too since the freaking civil war... And it really does seem to be reaching some kind of tipping point lately, one where the sheeple are starting to get uncomfortable enough to look around. (Which is why we now have NON-MSM news.)
I fear that if Paul doesn't win, or wins but is assassinated, we may seriously be in for some kind of outright revolution in the next 5-10 years. A revolution born of OWS and Anonymous... An "anti-MSM" clashing with the MSM and government to a point that is so loud that no one can escape seeing the news about it daily.
