The search option I use most and they pointlessly remove it. What the fuck is wrong with this company.

POF removed the "find similar users" option which was perfect for finding girls with big tits. C'est la vie.

You looking for guest posting opportunities brah?

I welcome them making it more difficult to search, it gives reason to try other alternatives.

the other alternatives really suck with Yahoo owned by Bing and Bing is still struggling. So it's again back to Google.

I don't know, I'm starting to really like Bing. I'm a definite Google hater so YMMV. With the recent Google updates Bing is on par for most searches I make. Google used to be better until the Panda/Penguin/Godzilla updates IMO.

I do still use Google when searching for technical problems, and linux related things and I still use Google maps. Bing Maps is now powered by Nokia so they've gotten a lot better. Streetview is the only area where Google Maps is better now.

Recently a few hipsters have been saying I should try duckduckgo, which I'd always seen as a bit shit.

Now, I fucking HATE the domain, and the fact I'm using it increasingly more, but the search is actually capable of finding something other than Wikipedia, Facebook, Twitter, Media Outlets, Big Brands and Google properties.

It's quite refreshing to see over the garden wall and discover something new.

I used to use Discussion search all the time, but the past couple of months, the only results it returned were from Google groups, and that was horrible so I quit using it. I never once found anything useful in a Google group, and I am NOT a Google hater.

Still, the old discussion search could find the answer to any of life's problems.

Use keyword + "powered by vbulletin" to avoid google groups i wish there was a script or something for greasemonkey.

I actually use "keyword phrase" -site:groups.google.com, but it was the principle of having to do it. There are some good SMF forums out there.

This is hilarious for so many reasons. I love watching the "classic cryptic Google changes" and thinking about why they are doing what they are doing and what directions they continue to go. We all know every search is unique, but they really do "show their cards" a lot when they are always "reshuffling the deck".

But we can't forget, when you listen to Google these types of changes are ALWAYS about the search engine user's satisfaction and showing the most relevant, useful results after all their testing.
