Google Voice Invites are comming

Got mine the other day as well, but us dirty foreigners across the pond apparently aren't let in just yet. can't wait to try it out though. I've been wanting to try out the ListenIn function for awhile now

I just got mine last night but am Abroad (I live in upstate NY).

You guys think using a proxy (which one?) would allow me to register an account anyways?

I'd be pissed if I missed it because I'm not in the US.

I was using grandcentral for over a year and half and just switched to skype...GV does have some cool features though, it might be time to start using my GV number again.

The guys on howardforums verified that you can open an account with a US proxy. I think you also need a US phone number for them to call, and you need to punch in a verification code.

Unfortunately I wasted my invite code by trying to register from a Canadian IP.

gay that you cant fwd 2 google voice accts at 1 phone # tho (cant have both fwd to my cel)

Sure you can. Just set the phone type to something besides cell. Set your cellphone as a home phone and you can then have multiple google voice numbers forward to it.

From what I have found out they consider cellphones as single user and other types of phones as mult-user

Guess they have not heard that many people use cellphones as their main phone these days.

Was everyone able to get their desired area code? I just got an invite today and there were no Hawaii area codes available. I'm trying to decide if I should wait it out or get another area code.

I just tried to do this and it didn't work with my cell phone. The weird thing I was able to set up 2 different accounts with the same home phone number? But it won't allow the same cell numbers? (but yeah when I tried to switch it from "mobile" to "home" it still said xxx xxx xxxx number is listed as a cell phone in another google account)

tips?
