Google's new tabbed ad format?

check out this new ad format by Google

have any of you seen this before? what do you think about it?

the videos and searches tab go to google's pages, so I'm guessing the EPC is pretty low for those tabs.
This is the first time I'm seeing this so I have no idea what the CTR is.
The ads were on this ubuntu thread, if you refresh it a few times you'll probably see it

That could be pretty sweet if it blends into your site well. I forsee this doing pretty good amongst web developers. May suck for existing layouts though.

I haven't seen that yet, that's really cool. I agree with grandcartel, that could be a killer fucking format if you set it up right.

Google is always testing new types and formats.. just from the images you posted, I have to wonder if this is going to be one that they scrap because that just seems way too good.

Nope
Just a good feeling that you are adding to the internet community with links to some other spam sites Google thinks is good.
You can find it under the Google Labs area.

I would imagine this works kinda like their Link Unit, where you only get paid if the visitors clicks something after having first clicked the Related bar link.

It's not an ad. It is not a link unit.
It's not under any advertising section.
Check Google Labs. You can put it on your pages if you want.
