Google's Response Finally.

Google has quite possibly the worst customer support of any company in the fortune 500. Be glad you got an email response. Even if it was boilerplate.

Yeah, this ad was actually content only as I was running image ads.
I haven't run anything on adwords since I was banned so I'm wondering what are all the zwinky and other big 300x250 image banner people doing? Direct linking to an offer is o.k.?

All the changes will probably kill conversions and the campaign but I want to successfully get something back in their system for once.
This is a fantastic approach and if you get it through your persistence will definitely pay off because you will have the golden key to adwords. Once you know the guidelines hopefully you can build a minisite and offer that will actually convert well based on those guidelines.

Ya, me either. But Google seriously needs to get knocked off their little fucking pedestal.

try explaining to a regular person why google does some evil shit, its harder than explaining what you do for a living. So, generally speaking, our opinion is in the extreme minority.

That's the problem though:

a) The "guidelines" are always moving and are completely arbitrary / open to interpretation

b) It's like they intentionally structure them so they WON'T convert and chalk it up to "user experience".

I HATE Google.

Many of those are cloaked, I've confirmed it repeatedly.

i have had my fair share of google nonsense. They literally make the rules as they go. No logic, no sense. Calling them is useless as you get canned after canned response.
For every little guy that gets pissed they have another 1000 little guys signing up so they truly don't give a fck.

Hahahahaha. if there was ever a perfect reply to a thread....

Fuck Google. Its the only company you can drop $2m a year into and not even get someone to tell you how you can continue to spend millions a year with them.

GOOGLE, YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS GIANT DONKEY BALLS!

I'm so lost with Adwords now, I don't even have the first fucking clue what I need to do to create pages/sites that will keep a quality score for more than 2 weeks. I'm just worn out of changing domain names once or twice a month so I can keep a campaign going.

These are my thoughts, unanswered questions and angers towards Adwords:

1. Are you allowed to advertise a product anymore? Sure doesn't seem like it. If you are trying to sell Blackberry phones, and have images, text, specifications and a buy this product button, that doesn't even cut it. I've tried adding customer reviews, video, links to other popular blackberry sites, everything i can think of to "Increase the quality of the user experience", and they still shut it down after 3 weeks. I know the rules about 'Landing Pages', but I'm going to provide a link to a site. We're trying to figure this shit out right?
Welcome to our Wireless World

I've created pages and sites that look exactly like this and they all get slapped. So what makes this one any different. It it because they're a huge site that spends millions of dollars with Google? Who knows really.

2. What's showing on Google right now? If you do a search for anything on Google, the sponsored search listings are not even a barometer of what works and what doesn't anymore, because 75% will get slapped and not be showing next week. Yet there's always ads on there, and I have to think that some of them are campaigns that have been running for a long time. Not everyone gets slapped I'm assuming. So why is it so difficult to figure out what they want? Why does Google make it this shadowy guessing game as to what will pass the test and what won't? Just tell us what's expected, in non ambiguous terms, and we'll comply. Can they just do that?

3. Even non-sales sites get fucked. I have a golf blog with nothing but good, original content that I post several times a week. I decided to run an adwords campaign to get more visitors to the blog. My ad copy had the name of the blog in the title and a nice description about the blog. It ran for 6 weeks and then all of my keywords went to 1/10. Keywords like golf blog, golf blogs, golf forum, golf discussion, golf websites. Mind you this is a 4 year old, PR4 blog that IS SOLELY GOLF RELATED with hundreds of pages indexed. So how in the fuck can those keywords go to a 1 QS? The blog is about golf for fucks sake. I just don't get it.

4. They hate affiliates. That speaks for itself.

That is crazy. If that gets slapped, WTF can they possibly want? Makes zero sense.

Oh and I forgot the last one.

5. Once you're slapped...the domain is shot. I have yet to create a new campaign on a domain that has previously been slapped. All keywords on a new campaign on that domain will instantly go to 1/10 and they never recover. So you make a mistake in judging what will work for a page, Google slaps your site, and the domain is tainted forever? What the hell?

...How 'about placing some ads for Google Affiliate Network? (Don't beat me up pleeeease!!!)
I mean, you know, as a test... Theres gotta be SOME offers?..

Duh, didn't you know that you cant advertise on google?

Does it says advertising anywhere?

It's all about user experience nowadays :p

This will probably sound harsh, but you need to step your game up or find other traffic sources like everyone else. Bitching at Google on a gay webmaster forum has helped exactly 0 people.

So you change a domain every time you get slapped, and this is a big deal to you because... ??

Learn how to do things more efficiently. Takes someone like 20 min or less to pop a page onto a new domain. If you suck, and it takes you forever, then outsource or automate.

You're probably getting slapped because your account, IP, phone, CC# or something is permafucked and anything associated with it is permafucked. I really hope I'm not wasting my time, and that you're learning the right lessons from all of this.

I haven't been sitting around hoping the Adwords fairy would magically appear and give me a free pass to Googleland where all of my campaigns would be shiny and profitable. I've been using the other networks in addition to Adwords the entire time. I was born at night, just not last night. If you have 10 campaigns running, and you have to rebuild each one every time the slap comes down, as well as, re-create all of the site content on new domains, I don't care how good you are, it's still a time consuming process. I have yet to find a way to automate something like this. As for the CC, phone number, etc. All that's been changed numerous times, so it's hard to say that's part of the problem.

Believe me, I get what your saying. But I'm not the solo voice of bitching about Google's policies. Their hap hazard attitude toward the people who are paying their bills is baffling, that's all.

honestly, looking at your cellphone page, the only reason i can think you got slapped is your account is permafucked like yubrew said. I think that site has plenty of shit on it to not classify it as a bridge page.

FYI Bing is advertising heavily on TV in Australia the last month.

If Bill Gates can get Bing as default home page in browsers on his OS then the sheep will follow. Otherwise Google is too entrentched in our online psyche worldwide. And they know it.

Wish they would get rid of their academics and have real business/marketing people running Googleland.

And thanks for your post BeerNuts.
