Got Scammed $1,900 by A2Ads - Any Recourse?

I've been fucked for a lot more than what OP is saying and I usually agree with bluechinagroup on stuff like this, but: it's attitude like this that keeps scumbags flourishing in this industry. Oh, let's forget about $2k. It's nothing.

Well, if a network/offer owner does that to dozens of people it's not "just" $2k anymore is it? And it's not time to move on. Someone has to stand up eventually and if John Wick here does pay him a visit I for one can't wait to hear a report on how it went

Thanks to the people in the thread that understand that it's about principle and potentially finally not letting one of these piece of shit thieves get away with fucking someone over.

To me there is no difference from having a scumbag like this make you earn money, promise to pay it, and then rob you, to a scumbag who breaks into your home while you're away and robs you that way. My rage is unhinged at this point.

Theft like this has gone on way too much in this industry. If you google "a2ads scam, not paying" you'll find threads from many others who got ripped off by this human garbage. His site is still operating, and guaranteed he's still scamming and collecting peoples hard earned money as we speak.

I have a Peerfly, and Maxbounty account, the reason why I used these bastards is because I had used them off and on since 2009 when they were flux ads. They had always paid before and i've earned over $30k with them through the years. I had no reason to suspect they would go rouge out of the blue, especially since Jon Lyons, the owner, was answering my emails while I was running the traffic.

And to say "$9.50 a fucking hour. Bro- I mean, Really?" is just stupid.

Who here can say that they haven't spent, or invested, countless hours that paid similar or less amounts in attempts to find something that works? I mean come on. And the method isn't viable anymore because the person who was selling me the ad space on his network of sites is no longer offering the deal.

But i'll quit bitching here, thanks for all the replies, i'll just say that I have some really talented blackhat friends who helped me dig up alot of info on this piece of shit, I know more about him, his family, and his associates than he ever dreamed someone would find out. Now what remains to be done with that info I won't say, but what I will say is, it will be strategic.

I'm just curious... how old are you?

WF has gone soft lately.

Don't just accept getting bent over, you have recourse.

Small claims court is a good start.

People doing business get fucked over all the time. It's the risk of doing business. You don't have the kind of rights that employees have. Offers for example go down because their credit card processor doesn't pay them so in turn they don't pay the affiliate network, and the affiliate network doesn't pay the affiliates, etc. The only way to mitigate that kind of risk is not putting all your eggs in one basket and constantly keeping tabs on the affiliate network you do business with if you're an affiliate.

Have you ever even been to small claims court?

So let's say OP gets a judgment in small claims court. Then what? How do you collect that money?

Obtaining a judgment won't magically transfer that money to the OP. Enforcing that judgment is a whole new shit show which will be further complicated by the fact that OP will probably have to pierce the corporate veil to make the individual owner of the limited liability company liable, since it's likely the A2ADs has little to no assets.

There is some good news OP: Small claims court rarely requires a lawyer, and that will be the easiest part of the entire process. If you're willing to put in dozens hours of work into discovering both the LLC's assets and the individual owners assets then perhaps you may be able to enforce that judgment. Of course Jon Lyons may then try to file for bankruptcy to avoid paying you, especially if he owes a ton of other affiliates money too.

Also you probably will need to sue A2ads in the state they're located in which means if you're not in the same state, you'll need to travel there.

So to break it down for you:

1. Figure out which small claims court you need to sue A2ads as an LLC/corporation and Jon Lyons as an individual in.

2. Have the Sheriff or some process server serve A2ads and Jon Lyons with the small claims lawsuit.

3. Prepare to show up in court and state your case. If you're lucky Jon Lyons won't bother to show up and you win by default.

4. Figure out how to enforce the judgment (start doing this homework BEFORE suing A2Ads/Jon Lyons)

5. Do an asset search to discover his assets. If the judgment applies to Lyons as an individual, you can widen your scope.

Good luck bro.

Now what remains to be done with that info I won't say, but what I will say is, it will be strategic.

This sounds like you'll be doing something incredibly dumb that'll at least involve criminal threatening if not more criminal acts.

very good point. i once got hit head-on by a dude without insurance and it totalled my vehicle. took him to small claims, he didn't show, i won by default.

i was happy until i asked how i'd get paid. the court said i'd have to go down into the ghetto, knock on his door, and demand his employment info so i could turn it in for future garnishment, and if he refused to provide it, i was shit out of luck.

TLDR: small claims is a fucking joke.

^^ Ahh, the price of diversity.

At least in CA, you can have a person's license revoked if they cause more than $500 or so in car damages. Courts don't care if you collect. They just care if they collect their outrageous fees like $2 for a xerox, $50 for a form, etc.

Amazing breakdown chinabluegroup, seriously a quality post like that deserves respect. Thanks!

Honestly though from here on out I need not further say anything relating to this case publicly. Hopefully if any others stumble upon it in the future, it will serve as a reminder to like you said, "never put all eggs in one basket" and constantly pay attention to what your CPA is doing. I got blind-sided because I had trust in them since they used to pay in the past. I'll never use that factor as a reason to trust anyone ever again.

Dude, how old are you? What exactly do you think you're going to do by going to San Diego and paying him a "face visit"? Take a lead pipe to his head? No, you're not going to do that, and we all know you're not going to do anything except post on the internet about how angry you are.

Yes, it sucks, but shit happens in the online business world, and all you can really do is suck it up, learn a lesson from it, and move forward. Getting pissed off isn't going to solve anything.

We're only talking about $1900 here. Again, yes, it sucks. I know I've been fucked out of way more than that before though, and I'm sure most others here with experience have as well. It's just the way things go. Hope for the best, plan for the worst, and all that shit.

Shut up you clown!

Go work your 13 hour, slave wage labor, $6/hr CPA wages.

Stop wasting your time here.

Shouldn't you be on your way to San Diego to lay a beat down.

What a joke you are.

I'd bet the $900 that 6-mo from now you come back here and everything is exactly how it is now.

You ain't gonna do shit.

And, you ain't gonna get shit.

You are young, dumb, and full of cum.

Get smarter and don't put yourself in this position again.

Quit reading this... you'd be halfway to Mr. Lyons house by now to lay your beatdown on him with your buck fifty frame.

Now that I_Like_Cock is here, where the fuck is mGrunin? He'd let you know how to handle things like an all star.

Well hmmm sure Trailblazer shoulda checked his six before doing business with Flux, but has anybody noticed that the level of shit in IM has got so high you need wings to stay above it?

I mean, five years it was 50-50 or 60-40 that if you did business with somebody new, they would try to scam you. Last year or two, it's like 99%.

I mean I don't business with anybody anymore unless they have references, and if they have references for sure I check them out.

My attitude is "you're a scumbag, until proven otherwise."

And holy fuck yes I have been scammed for more than $900. More than once. More times than I will admit.

I'll pay him a face to face visit. Jon Lyons, you made a huge mistake you worthless piece of shit.

This is the WF, that I used to know :).

I've been burned for way more, and I've been just as pissed about way less due to principle so I get you. Don't think you're going to get the boyz here on your side and go hunting for dude, but I do admire the passion to not let it go. Maybe you'll get nothing out of it, maybe you'll feel validated if you do, maybe this will be good practice for when you get hit by a bigger dick and really need to do something about it...

It's cringe reading about CPA scams like this in 2016. 8 or so years later I've still never missed a payment from CLICKBANK and it has set me free/scaled beautifully, and stories like yours when I first started out kept me the fuk away from CPA's as there's too much risk all the way around when scaling. Sorry just had to throw that in, I know there's peeps here that turned milly's safely in the CPA world too I'm just not one of them.

Good luck, I hope this thread grows into a classic!
