I just watched the thing on Hulu... and when the Jersey Shore cast him in a bad light in the most recent episode, what does he do? Threatens to quit.

Actually it's very smart. He's just posturing.

He knows he's the biggest name on the show so he'll say he's reluctant and only willing to sign on for appearances and whatnot for more money.

He has a brand to protect and leveraged his power over the show to try to get what he wanted. Pretty sure if you were the most popular cast member in a show and they tried to paint you in a light that could hurt your image, you would do the same. That's just smart business.

Granted the threat of quiting was probably overkill because I don't think anybody would believe he'd kill his golden goose but I don't think he is a pussy for trying to get his way.

I'm always amazed by guys who seem like total idiots, but are street geniuses.

I had a friend that couldn't work his was out of a math book, but had a portfolio of rental homes and used to make a killing renting out hotel rooms he reserved in advance on sports weekends (I saw him do this with 50 rooms during the NBA All-Star Weekend).

Sometimes I'd rather be more like these guys than book smart.

You can be like them.... Just study how they think and then come up with some of your own ideas.
 
this is me, i mean i'm not the situation, but i have long term goals, and i guarentee that most of the ppl i meet don't see me as smart, i graduated college, and got thru high school with honors, but that doesn't mean much

all the situation did was play the game, look for opportunity, and capitalize on his strengths, he could have been plannin this for a long long time, then when it finally all works out ppl are like WTFOMG how did he do it. All along i'm sure he had some idea of how things would pan out for him, and in his case they worked out very well .. props to him

Guy's really obnoxious, MTV's proven time and time again it can make stars out of total jackasses, I am consistently in awe of their marketing genius.

Think about it - ALL they do on this show is go to clubs and drink. WTF??
