Yah, you might carry a weapon and know how to handle it, but I hate gun owners who talk like you. That weapon will permanently change someone's life if you fire on them. It's a deadly defense instrument, not a fucking ego booster.
In the case you're dealing with some uppity kid from a better background (and therefore less threathening), maybe consider giving a hard open hand slap, a sort of bitchslap if you will. I've found this to be quite powerful in a 'put up or shut up' kinda way, when I've seen it dished out. Of course that means being ready to follow up if the perp doesn't stop pestering you (most likely will).
But then this asshole gets to walk away feeling like he's done the right thing, threatened us and gotten away with it. Meaning he'll continue like this, the next time he's in a similar situation.
mixed mar·tial arts
noun
1.
an extreme combat sport in which contestants are permitted to use the fighting techniques of wrestling and boxing but also those of martial arts such as kickboxing, judo, and karate.
I can vouch for this and it actually works. Slapping not only feels way better when you do it but it totally humiliates whoever is on the end of it.
I think psychologically they feel you they wern't worth a clenched first in some way and tend to back off after being slapped.
Not really your problem.
Firearms. Look it up, yourself.
You never know who you're messing with. I know a few mma instructors, and none of them look like it. De-escalate or exit whenever possible, and don't feel bad about it. It's a survival skill. Protect the people with you if you need to, but leading them to safety is way better than alternatives.
And in a lot of places, a gun doesn't mean you win. (some people actually think that.) If you present it, it means you've opened up the possibility for a deadly gunfight.
It's best to move along, knowing you can handle shit if it follows you on your way out, and hoping you don't have to.
Pretty awesome movie for various reasons, but I'm gonna disagree with this "slap people" idea.
If you go to "slap" someone who is capable of defending themselves, they aren't going to process it as "he's only slapping me," and you'll get the full force of their defense in return.
That just sounds like a horrible idea.
You = you-anyone... If someone is really so weak that you think you can slap them without repercussions, then you're a real dick for doing so, and most likely underestimating the entire situation and aftermath.
I understand the concept of "slapping" as a giant power play, but it has every opportunity to go wrong, and very little upside.
I agree with you (see my posts here and here). In fact, every time I see Billy Bob come up with the shotgun, I think to myself, "Kurt wasn't thinking it through."
But I'll have to disagree with you on one minor detail: I think Tombstone is a pretty bad movie. It just has several really good parts (most of them involve Michael Biehn or Kilmer).![]()
I grew to like Billy-Bob eventually (I resisted it for a long time).
but that might be Val Kilmer's best movie.
Not bad for Sam Elliot, either.
Some many tough guys in this thread. Hilarious.
BRO THIS IS WHAT I DO WHEN I GET IN FIGHTS....
HAHAHA so true, I was quite a fucking idiot a handful of times growing up my nose looks like a combo of these two.
Full of cartilage on the inside obstructing breathing and can make me snore like hell when sleeping on back. Getting surgery next year cutting inside with laser and make it straight like my dick again.
Was it worth it now 10 years after, most probably not.
