AmishFBI (3:58:34 PM): Hey Jon
AmishFBI (3:58:40 PM): Do you know if CJ offers a referral program?
ao jon (3:59:11 PM): For other affiliates to join CJ?
AmishFBI (3:59:21 PM): yeah
ao jon (3:59:20 PM): Yeah, pretty sure they do.
AmishFBI (3:59:36 PM): k, they sure hide it well
AmishFBI (3:59:38 PM): ill keep searching
AmishFBI (4:00:02 PM): whoa, i didnt know cj was part of valueclick
ao jon (4:01:37 PM): LOL
AmishFBI (4:01:49 PM): shows what i know

ao jon (4:01:53 PM): That is the funniest fucking thing I've heard all week.

In Tyler's defense though, he never really did affiliate marketing, so it's not like he made huge claims of being in the game.. but holy shit, that's some funny fucking stuff for someone to JUST realize or learn now. Especially when you've been associated with the industry for a few years now.

lol Tyler Durden :D

actually i've been trying to cut back on trying to learn every little industry detail like that. kills productivity.

I just discovered Performics was part of DoubleClick when they sent an email last week:
Oh, our parent company DoubleClick was just bought by Google.

Shows what I know.

I wonder if Google will use Performics for their entry in to the CPA world.

Google bought my old Wiki provider, JotSpot, about 6 months ago, and they STILL haven't relaunched it under the big G's banner... No idea what they're doing with that, or why they even bought it.

Because they can. That's why.

I couldn't find CJ's referrer program... not an English language one anyway - had to apply to the German one..

Dodgeball owners recently quite cuz Google didnt think the startup was worth engineer resources.. JotSpot could be down the same alley..

Why acquire tho?

Looks like CJ have stopped their referral program :(

Dear Publisher,

Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding Commission Junction referral links. However, at present Commission Junction does not have an active referral program.

Remember you can get answers to most of your questions 24 hours-a-day by logging into your CJ Account Manager™ and clicking on the “Help” link.

Sincerely,
Commission Junction Client Support

They do have one in German though... application pending....

Google would be stupid to mess around with Performics aside from giving it more resources to grow into what I believe is the best affiliate (and more) solution out there... And this coming from an x CJr.

Having been in the game for many years, I've seen CJ going up (fortunately when I was there) and down then Linkshare going down then up. But if there is one company in the US that knows how to leverage affiliation assets to make the most of traffic an insure conversions for their clients it is in my view Performics. And to prove this is the company that in my view has been steadily growing (maybe not as fast as they could but not bad)

CJ still runs the referral program but you need to be pulling some decent stats to run it. I'm pretty sure that's something like 10k month revenue.

Just $9999 to go then!

(Fortunately not quite that bad!)

Strange that I could apply to the German program, oh well nevermind...

Love ya blog btw, the Digg post was interesting - might try that out.

Gyppo, didn't realize that was your blog until just now. That's hands down the best internet marketing blog that I read.

Keep up the good work man, I've been following along for awhile now.

Yeah I got the same e-mail from CJ.. currently no active referral program. I was just doing some research for PublisherSpot.com </plug>

And yeah, I haven't done any affiliate marketing period, but might try my hand at it soon...
