Oh man I'm so disappointed that I went out and got drunk tonight and missed the development of this thread!
This is a great opportunity for me to address Quadzilla directly on this subject. Dude, seriously WHAT THE FUCK!

I don't idolize hardly anyone in the industry. I don't look up to shoemoney, davidN, lee dodds, I don't even idolize jon(although i think he's cool) Your the only god damn person in the seo industry I not only really respect but actually look up to. While everyone else was posting bullshit about new google products and spoon feeding other worthless shit to newbies you were the first one to come out and say "hey here is something you can actually use!" With all the bullshit around you were the only one i've ever seen that actually teaches and inspires people. Don't give me stats on bluehatseo.com I have log files! I don't need your fuckin information, and i certainly don't need urltrends to tell me how successful my site is. I don't judge the success on the site on the number of inbound links. You may but apparently i'm nothing like you. I base it solely on the people who email me and tell me "hey man your post on ___ really helped me out. Thanks for sharing." Fuck "link love" thats real and you can't argue with it.

everyone in every industry has someone they look up to. mine in this particular case happens to be quadzilla. I'm also a huge fan of Warren Buffet but it doesn't mean i'm ever even going to talk to the guy. It isn't sucking his dick to say i respect him and have always liked his work. Likewise it isn't disrespect to express my distaste for for the changes he's making. I just choose to do it more colorfully than other people do. People are forgetting about my other post that mentions him.

Also, being drunk was my excuse for the horrible grammar and spelling. Not as a way to take back what i said. Even reading it when i was sober, i was like wow thats kinda a chick way of saying it but yeah its right on target with my opinion.
eitherway my opinion doesn't matter so i'm ready to drop it if everyone else is.

If anyone had been reading Quadszilla's posts carefully, you'd also see that it's an instruction manual for link bait. BH techniques still work, yes; but he just doesn't blog about it as much. Why? He told you. Nobody links much to black hat stuff I post on my blog, either.
I post a list of crap Matt Cutts said and everyone loves it. Why? It's link bait. I try to stay on topic more than Quadszilla, but I also have fewer links than he does by far.
His blog is still very useful if you've been watching -- like I said. Maybe it should be called SEOLinkbait.com instead. Either way, he's not a total sellout. He's just changing with the times. Blatant comment spamming doesn't work as well as getting Dugg. And certainly blogging about black hat stuff gets you nowhere. I've noticed it too.

Woah there one post wonder pal. You come here defending Quad, which is fine, but then you go off dropping links to your own blog on your first post, fuck no man! I edited your links, please don't come here thinking you'll get away with that sort of shit here.
What's the big deal? It's a decent SEM blog, and I made a meaningful informative post. I wasn't even thinking of SEO when I left those links, except perhaps in the footer to drop my name. And it's not like I dropped 8 links to credit-repair-services-online.com and free-ringtones.com, either. That link in the post I cited as link bait has zero need for 1 more link from a forum -- even a prominent one like this one. It's just the example that came to mind first. Where is it in the rules that I can't drop a relevant link in a post?

What's the point of the forest if nobody hears a tree fall? Only crazy people like to talk to themselves, and most blogs out there sadly have no more than 1 reader.
A blog is a great promotion device. Quadszilla uses his to drive people to the (paid) forums. He can use it, in fact, as a marketing platform for any enterprise.
FYI: I'm no longer lurking. It's not like I haven't been here before, I just rarely post on forums. When is it OK to drop links in my tagline?
