vancouver, yo
This post might come off as a little pretentious, but fuck it. You're my crew and I need some help figuring this out.

I'm going to be busy as all fucking hell this year at school with class and extra-curriculars. Some of the stuff on my plate:

-Starting the Pharmaceutical Sciences program
-House Manager of my Fraternity House (any other FIJIs around?)
-Social Chair of the InterFraternity Council, planning events for the entire Greek system
-Member-at-Large of many different Student Council committees including the Budget Committee which oversees a $30 mil. budget
-Elections Administrator for the Student Union which means I have to run two referenda and a full election this year
-more, more, more

One of the upsides of all of this is that much of my responsibility revolves around social events, and I basically have an all-access pass to all Fraternity, Sorority, and Campus events that take place. On top of that, I live in one of the upper-tier fraternity houses on campus, and my situation is... very good.

I was thinking today about how all of this could really prove to be a win for someone I could get just like Van Wilder did as an assistant. Non stop party/social train, plus insanely valuable skills learned watching the whole political process play out, and how to effectively run PR, manage staff, delegate tasks, chair meetings, etc. for these committees, referenda and the election.

My question to you: How should I go about finding someone like this? I want to make it fun and playful. I was thinking a lander and Facebook ads targeted at my local University populus, with the age around 18-19 so I can find freshmen for this. I won't be able to pay much more than a stipend but I'm not kidding when I say that I can literally fill the kids schedule with so much fun social stuff and introduce him to more tail than he'll meet in a lifetime.

Thoughts??

Why not get a pledge to do it?

I thought heavily about this but I really don't want to start some sort of trend inside the fraternity of doing shit like that. Actually a couple of my fraternity brothers asked me the same thing when I bounced this idea off of them.

I just want to stay away from choosing a pledge and then having him be at my beck and call. Conflict of interests.

That was kinda the point of a pledge for us. They were at our beck and call.

Sounds like a great situation to be in tangy.

If I were you I would check with the Marketing or Mass Communications department and see if there are any types of internship programs that are in place that an ambitious student may have signed up for. Only problem is that you may only get Jr. and Sr. applicants.

When I was in college the marketing department was the only business discipline that did not have an internship program so I went to the head of the business school and in no time I helped develop a new internship program for the marketing department. The next semester I was the first intern traveling the state of Florida for a semester with a local manufacturer's rep selling clothing.

If the internship route is a no go then I still think that posting something on the Business School bulletin board or specifically Marketing or Mass Communications departments would give you the best candidates that would take the opportunity seriously.
