I was going to do a similar thing, but with a whole range of guitars (targetting high value keywords as well as long tail)... sort of put that to one side at the moment although I have the domain waiting to go.

I want to do everything purely in SEO without spending in PPC

my current project is made 55$ in adsense clicks, and around £30 in affiliate commissions - £15 expense. Averaged 4.5k unique visitors in first month which I hope is pretty good for my first try.

I've seen something similar as well. It's a product that is slowly becoming illegal in more and more states(this is seo traffic, not ppc). I thought all my sites for it were dead, until one day another state banned it. 43 sales off that bitch in one day, for sites I (thought) were already dead. Definitely not ranking. 50% conversion.
I can't wait until the next state does that.

fm1234, Great post man. You really did give alot of info there, along with the follow up for building the lp. In this game, you have to be able to "think outside the box", but it's really refreshing to see specifics from time to time!

True blue, but what I've done before is to sell a product online through my own ecommerce site without actually having the product myself, or an established dropship supplier, or an available affiliate program at the time.
I researched the price for the product, knew the limited number of suppliers pushing the product, and as soon as I made sales I just contacted one of the researched retailers and negotiated a commission on the spot for order fulfillment (even though I had already employed my own little 'margin'). I was in a persuasive mood.
Not something to get in the habit of doing perhaps, but sometimes when you have a pressing idea, you can't let something annoying get in the way - such as no existing supplier/affiliate program.

Yeah, I agree in many cases that's a good idea. Sadly for these there's not even a supplier I can find. Nevermind a reputable one. Also the drug analogues act is a bitch.
