Shit i just remembered another terrible scam that only happened about 6 months ago.

I had someone on my contact list that ran an egold exchange business. We would occasionally talk, and they would exchange small amounts of egold for me like $20 - $50.

They were on my contact list for like a year.

So anyway I posted on a forum I was looking for egold about 6 months ago, then a guy contacted me saing he had $3600 in egold he wanted exchanged, I told him I only wanted like $100 - but I referred him to the egold exchange person I had on my contact list on MSN.

I introduced them via 3way chat, and they talked for about 20 minutes, then as soon as the guy sent the egold over - bam he was gone.

They still haven't logged back in.

I felt so shitty for referring the guy to them, he lost $3600 egold.

Thank you for reminding me of that site. I remember reading the story that the king of scambaiters worked his magic so well, that by the end of the scambait he had a video of nigerian scammers doing the Monty Python parrot skit. It was fucking hysterical!

*EDIT*

Found it: YouTube - Monty Python's Dead Parrot sketch, scammer style!
Yeah the king of scambaiters is the site owner shivermetimbers. I remember him getting a scammer (lad) to hand write one of the harry potter books Welcome to the 419 Eater or where he gets them to hand draw a load of street maps Welcome to the 419 Eater the blokes a genius @ wasting scammers time!

I miss my days as a baiter, it's fun, addictive but eats up so much time ...

Those are great. I thought about trying my hand at some scambaiting too, but realized it would take up too much time. But, it reall does seem fun.

hmm I can't figure this out (I don't have my sleazy scammer hat on) What is the point of these emails, to get your name and address and then what?

They'll probably then ask for your banking info and/or your SSN.

I've also seen a couple where they want you to send a $5,000 processing fee to cover the cost of sending that much money.

Recently I have been trying to make some cash to put into a campaign by web designing. I placed some adverts up on Craigslist and got tons of spam, as expected. It is funny how some of these emails expect me to actually believe they want to buy my 'item' when they don't even run their fucking spam email through a splle chakcer.

I get a few of these emails every day but it's become a 'norm'. There is a low tech scam which happened to me the other day. This guy wearing expensive watch and gold chain came up to me and told me he needed my help cuz he didn't have money to take a bus to the airport. That he'll call me or meet me somewhere tomorrow to pay me back. When I asked the magic question, 'How much', he told me $20, which I proceeded to walk of. If he's gonna take a flight, how's he gonna pay me back the next day?

Just got this one, I'm tempted to call that # and just fuck with the guy.

I'm Rich Too, Plus I'm Helping 'The Motherless Babies Home'

I felt obligated to help 'Mrs. Queen Manda' because she has 'cancer of the breast', and also developed 'cancer of the lungs' several paragraphs in. Besides, if I don't take the 8.6 million, it will get 'confisticated'. That's never good.

I am Mrs Queen Manda from Netherlands,I am 58 years old,i am deaf and suffering from a long time cancer of the breast which also affected my brain, from all indication my conditions is really deteriorating and it is quite obvious that, according to my doctors they have advised me that i may not live for the next two months, this is because the cancer stage has gotten to a very bad stage. I was brought up from a motherless babies home was married to my late husband for twenty years without a child ,died in a fatal motor accident Before his death we were true Christians.

Since his death I decided not to re-marry,I sold all my inherited belongings and deposited all the sum of $8.6million dollars with a Security Company.Presently, this money is still with them and the management just
wrote me as the true owner to come forward to receive the money for keeping it so long or rather issue a letter of authorization to somebody to receive it on my behalf since I can not come over because of my illness or they get it confisticated.

Presently, I'm with my laptop in a hospital where I have been undergoing treatment for cancer of the lungs. I have since lost my ability to talk and my doctors have told me that I have only a few months to live.

It is my last wish to see that this money is invested to any organisation of your choice and distributed each year among the charity organization, the poor and the motherless babies home where i come from.I want you God fearing, to also use this money to fund churches, orphanages and widows,I took this decision, before i rest in peace because my time will soon be up.

As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the Security Company.I will also issue you a letter of authority that will prove you as the new beneficiary of my fund. Please assure me that you will act
accordingly as I stated herein. Hoping to hearing from you soon.

Waiting for your reply
Yours in Christ
Mrs Queen Manda

Lol, yeah those are great. :D I have had people come up to me at grand central station here in Oslo and ask for some money so they can buy a local train ticket home (like $10). Interestingly they "lost their wallet" or some shit...

Right.. So then I offer them to go buy a ticket for them instead of giving them cash.

And all the sudden - they take off with their tail between their legs, LOL.
:D
