Bookshelf or bigger preferably, brands and models.
Not talking about component surround speakers, want something for music in the office during the day so I don't have to use headphones.

Not to jack the thread, but I'm actually interested in a surround sound system for the living room. I really don't wanna go over $1k though.. suggestions?

amazon is having a sale on martin logan satellite speakers and I have the marantz nr1501...the 1601 is the newer model but i just saw the 1501 on sale as well on amazon... that should be a good setup right near 1k

I have some extra speakers that my boss gave me on accident. Hes probably just going to take them back or give us a six pack for them. You can take them off my hand for 90% off right now. Let me just get them out of my white van or truck that I drive around parking lots all day.

With that budget I would suggest this.....

Onkyo TX-SR608 [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003BIFOL8/]Amazon.com: Onkyo TX-SR608 7.2-Channel Home Theater Receiver (Black): Electronics[/ame]

Klipsch QUINTET 5.0 Speaker System [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002HWRKA2/]Amazon.com: Klipsch QUINTET 5.0 Speaker System (Black HG): Electronics[/ame]

Klipsch SW-350 Subwoofer [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002HWRK9I/]Amazon.com: Klipsch SW-350 8-Inch 350 Watt Subwoofer (Black): Electronics[/ame]

$1,077.99 Shipped

You could get it under $1000 if you switched the subwoofer to the Klipsch Sub-10

Home Stereo Setup ->
AAD by Phil Jones

Contact them and try to work out a deal - Ultimate Electronics in STL carried this stuff for about 6 months but supposedly he couldn't keep up with demand. The corp headquarters made them stop selling it since he couldn't keep up and they couldnt seel them in all stores. I listened to every setup they had in the showroom. You will need a kleenex after listening.

Bias Disclaimer: I have a 7.2 surround with the M line.
