Im on hostgator and have been very pleased with them. My sites get a total of 30k visitors a day with no slow downs on their shared hosting. Although my sites do use static html instead of a CMS, which may explain the speediness I get.
Ever since hostgator moved datacenters my sites have been slow and down 3 times for long periods. I would suggest you go with something else. I think most people still on hostgator have so many sites added they just don't want the hassle of moving... but it keeps getting worse and not better.
I have been using HostGator for last 9 years and have been extremely satisfied. Their support is solid and their prices are great. However hosting these many domains are ok as long as your traffic stays under the bandwidth limits of your account. Otherwise you may need an upgrade.
