So...I just moved into this new place where they have a pool and hot tub but there's usually people in the hot tub when I arrive.

What's the proper etiquette here upon entering the hot tub? Can one just say, "What's up peeps?" and get in...or does one need to ask if they wouldn't mind another joining them? Or do you need to reserve a time spot? Maybe put your quarters on the side of the hot tub like it's a pool table...

What do you do when it's men, women, or a mix of the two?

"Hey guys, I'm about to get in. I just ate a pot full of beans and I'm ripping holes in my shorts though, so pardon me ahead of time."

you'll have the hot tub to yourself in no time. it always works.

are these people your roommates? is this an apartment complex? do they pay to use it? are they just hanging out?

You live there, so go in and out as you please! I'd be polite though.. Hop in and introduce yourself.

It's gonna be awkward either way, but if you start a conversation and get to know the people it will help, and set yourself up for less awkwardness in the future if you become friends.

Carry some convo... otherwise you're that wierd guy just sitting in there listening to them.

just roll in there like you own the tub, and if anyone gives you shit... do something like this:

if you're a person of manners etiquette says you have to find the nearest bush and wait behind it until they invite you in. Stay behind the bush but make sure they can still see you so they know you're there and be sure to stare at them to show intent. Otherwise they might not know what you want.
