And that Of Course it has to do with who you know...everything counts and that can be the leverage that makes all the difference for some. I was cocky as fuck..threw more than one opportunity away because I thought my shit didn't stink and would often tell people in high positions that might have otherwise helped me, to go fuck themselves if they challenged or offended me in some way I didn't like.

Exactly, my point.

YOU would have done something different. Which means that YOU are in control. YOU are responsible for your success and your failures.

There are no external factors at play. It's not the government or the economy or your education or your connections or anything else that makes you a success or a failure. It is YOU.

When you take 100% responsibility for your life, you become powerful beyond measure. You can create any life that you want.

This isn't 100% accurate. There are external factors out of your control that do influence your success and failure.

The government is the biggest external threat to your success.

But I assume you're referring to people who blame anything but themselves for their shortcomings.
