i was at the Russian embassy today with a bit of a problem. I'm supposed to leave to Okinawa in 7 days, but there are documents which need to be registered at the embassy in 10 days.

I didn't know what to expect, but luckily I had insurance on the plane tickets.

At the embassy there were 2 consulates in the same room. I explained my dilemma and they said "no, problem we will do it in 5 days instead of 10 and you don't have to pay extra".

They're much nicer than I expected, I heard all kinds of stories about officials in Russia and I don't know if they're true. But in Canada they're very likeable people.
