How do you prioritize your CPM ad network chain on a regular basis?

I'd love it if I could just throw all my display inventory onto a DSP and let real time bidding take care of the rest, but I've found that the CPMs that come out of Google AdX are only good for my remnant ad inventory.

I have one ad network that consisting outperforms the rest, but networks in slots 2-4 in the chain are constantly changing in performance. One day network A could have the highest CPM, but the next it could be the worst.

Have any of you found a way of optimizing the yield from the CPM networks?

Are you using an adserver to manage your ads? This is actually something I'm working on for a new venture. We should chat on Skype.

Yes, let's chat on skype. But to answer your question, I use my ad networks proprietary ad server which then defaults to my next ad network when it doesn't have any inventory to serve that user at the required minimum CPM.
