I think the guy asked a legitimate question. I personally think you can't tell unless you a)have spent time in those countries b)have friends from the culture. A funny thing is I asked a Korean girlfriend a similar question back in college and she said sometimes she can't tell. Just like now I can almost instantly tell that a person is of scandinavian descent even if they have darker hair (hey Image, tell me you can't recognize that rat brown hair, lol mycket kul!)
