They are all on Godaddy? You get some kind of disocunt when you renew? Or other benefits?

HH

Most are through godaddy. I don't do any BH stuff so i don't worry about them fucking with me. I've had a good experience. I use them because I can get domains for like 7.15 per year (just search for coupon codes)

Something I don't understand is that, if you've got thousands of domains like some of the guys here, are they ever updated?

Do they just sit online with ads or whatever on them, earning quietly (or not, as the case may be?)

Like 100 and half are po*n related sites that I'll never do anything with - they're pretty good names too (I think??).

Anyone know how to get a good p site going? Bought them one night while I was drinking -

I'm up over 300...

but I've been trying to cut back and just buy names that I know I can use... too many pending projects, not enough finished ones...

Like a bad crack habit once you start you can't quit. I have 6 and one on the shelf.

Right now it would be somewhere between 35 & 40. I am looking to sell a good lot of them so then I will be back around 15 or so that are all sites that are active.

Over 23,000 last time I ran a count.

No longer have an exact count as a bunch I let go of, some accidentally expired, and I've been on a domain buying binge this entire last week!

Does anyone else have a similar problem where you snagged some domains from NS, Snap, or some auction site other than TDNAM, and you have domains at a bunch of different no name registrars, and then you get an email letting you know it's about to expire and you have no recollection of owning the domain in the first place??

This is just proof that I am an addict. But I'm beating LB so I'm in the lead!

I just hope I can snag the ICANN accredited license this summer. Then the real domain buying sprees shall begin!

Hahah! Jon, you will be shocked at some of the high-quality domains we have snagged in last few days. Not gonna fess em out here cos they they are hard-core trademark violations. :P

I am excited about these mothers-days domains we are expecting 5-figure type-in traffic on in next few days.

I agree with you Poto. Although I have maybe 15 domains I am doing my best to get the most use out of them. I received a tip from a post stating to use ads and images for the index page of domains that are no longer used or may be "on the shelf". That way in case a surfer lands you have an opportunity to make a conversion. Jon is way out there with +20K which is great! It would be interseting if Jon would explain how many of those domains he uses and how many did he buy per year.

One thought which crossed my mind was to space out buying domains. Unfortunately these suckers expire and to be stuck with having to pay 5 to 10 dollars for each domain in one month would sound like a vacumn. If you have 30 domains you are dropping $150+ in 1 month. That's ludacris (not the rapper :))! Especially for a semi-noob like myself. One poster stated it perfectly that each domain must pay it's own rent. If the domain I own is not making enough money to pay for itself it will be canned.

Noob advice. Give your business a separate account or use business software to track your business. This is a fun business unless you are losing money! Good luck!
