I speak the English

I communicate with all others by speaking English slowly and louder

my wife is the smart one in the family, she speaks 5 languages fluently and a working knowledge of 3-4 others.

English - native
Japanese - fluent conversationally, reading intermediate
Hebrew - was fluent, now rusty
Indonesian - the basics

Serious question, linguistically speaking - English and Ghetto English (ebonics?): Two separate languages?

My vote is no.

English and Spanish fluent.

But if I speak slow, and shout loud in english while pointing fingers and raising my eyebrows, then pretty much any language. Seems to work pretty well.

English only. Want to learn another language, considering French, Italian and Spanish. French, because someday I'd like to see Paris and Italian because I'd like to see Venice, Florence and Rome - someday. Spanish, because I live in the USA and we have a huge Spanish speaking population.

Recommendations? Suggestions where to start? Is Rosetta Stone worth it? or is there another tool out there that's better?

Negative on the rosetta stone. I prefer the teach yourself series, movies, tv shows and podcasts. I think most cable packages come with Univision or Telemundo.

French is a pretty hard language. I would go with Spanish, much more useful especially in the U.S

English only, and decent with Thai. Happy with it, because if I can learn Thai, learning any other language that goes off the latin alphabet should be that much easier for me. Latin alphabet, and not tonal? Shit, easy, easy...

Same here. Now that you have the hang of Thai you NEED to learn Mandarin, the language of our future overlords.

English and French to a moderate level (except when I last went to a French supermarket - asked someone where the vegetable juice was (meaning fruit juice) ) *facepalm*
