I'm in the same boat.. I think the only reasonable solution is to buy it and only use it on a circuit track.
i just don't trust other drivers.. i know a couple who had some bitch pull in front of them. 2 years to recover b/c some moron wasn't paying attention.
Get a bike! You won't die, just don't go crazy. I have a SV1000s which is one of the slower 1000cc bikes but it will beat anything short of a high end ferrari. Price/performance/fun wise, you can't beat a motorbike.

+1 as well for bikes.. I have a 08 Yamaha R6S. I started with a 500 and had no prior bike experiences. Once I felt good enough I got the 600 and I love it.. fun in the twistys and on day rides through the mountains in various places here in California. If anyone's down to ride and in Cali - hit me up.
I don't even have a car. I sold my last one for $500 and never replaced it. Even though I have had a car my entire life until now, I don't miss it at all. I drive my wife's shitty car.
My buddy has a bike (Not sure what kind) but I watched him take down a hayabusa at the track but then again I think the guy with the hayabusa was pussy footing it since he wasted his ass the next round.
My friends bike speedo max's out at 300KM/hour and the guy he was racing (with the hayabusa) said when they were toe to toe his was reading 320KM/Hour.
Fuck if you ask me thats just fucking insane, I wanna bike yeah but 320KM/hour not sure if I got the balls for that since the fastest I've ever gone was in my truck at 195KM/hour and at those speeds in a high ass truck with a light ass end its extremely touchy.
Obviously a bike has more areo-dynamics but still.
Anyway here are some sweet pics to ponder over now that were talking bikes.
