Just bought me a scooter... fun as hell :)

I miss my car. I live in a metropolis tho where it has taken me 4 hours in a car what would have taken 30 minutes to walk. BKK traffic is ridiculous. Public transport here already kicks ass (Sky-train, subway, bus system, cheap taxis). I can get anywhere in Bangkok for less than 10 dollars.

For longer distances, buses cost 20 - 30$ for a 1st class seat, take a train for about the same, or a plane for 50 - 100$. I love this place.

I'm sure someday if I'm making a crazy amount of money I'll think about buying a car and getting a chauffeur, but for now I'll focus on buying a house/condo and settle for a taxi.

The black car is mine at the back, an 06 BMW X3, however i regularly drive the SL. If i'm lucky and its dry i can use the Vette. Both ridiculously fast cars

How do you like your SL? I have a jaguar xj8-L that I don't drive at all thinking about trading it off for a 05-06 SL. Want something more sporty.

If you can get the AMG do it, it's fast as fuck when you want it to be, but nice to cruise at 55-60. Had an M3 cabrio SMG before and that thing begged to be driven hard constantly and was tiring to drive. The build quality and finish is great. Mileage is about 10-18mpg depending on your right foot, which in the UK is expensive drive!!

You do?! I don't! I haven't had a car since I moved to the city centre in '99 and it is the best move I ever made. I always get funny look sometimes back in the USA because people assume here if you can't drive you can't afford to - silly really. I much prefer the European way. Good public transportation or ACTUALLY WALKING. If you don't want that, with none of the (primarily) hassle and (secondarily) expenses of a high end car, you can fly privately (marquis starts at a reasonable plrice for 25 hours, plus you can write some stuff off), or rent a driver and a nice car say when you go out once or twice a month.

I love being able to walk someplace, hail a cab because I'm in or near a city and not have to deal with standing in line for gas, road rage, etc. Only way I could have a car being an everyday part of my life would be if I had a full time driver (min 40k a year) at disposal.

So walking, using the train, cabs, rental cars it is!

Some of the wealthiest people I know drive modest vehicles, when I was a kid I thought they were being cheap why no Lamborghini or some shit like that – but that was back when I thought a $300k car was cool. I love cars and bikes but dumping over 70k on a car seems pretty dumb to me… So what do I drive? Well I can’t say they are that modest but they ‘aint luxury. A big green Harley and a 1972 Buick and I love the look on the face of the guys in the Lamborgnie when people walk right by those rides to check mine out – that is priceless!!!!
