How much are cigarettes?

I know UK prices won't help you, but might be good to compare...

Embassy Number One: Approx £3.50 for a 10 pack, £6.80 for a 20 pack. Quality brand alike Benson & Hedges and Marlboro.

Mayfair: Approx £3.15 for a 10 pack, £6 for a 20 pack. These make you want to vomit, alike Lambert & Butler and Richmond.

I remember in my teenage years you could pick up a pack of 10 for under £2. Fucking taxes lol.

Spotted this on some blog...
Every cigarette nets the Government around 26p - and on a £6.50 packet of 20, the Government pockets around £5.25.

I don't touch 'em but my wife does. Ranges from $4.75 - $5.75 for a pack of camel lights. The grocery store is the higher price and the gas station is the lower.

Here in Vegas I pay $6.00 to $6.50 for a pack.

EDIT:

pretty soon it's going to be so expensive it'll be cool to smoke again as a status symbol.

So, if you spend $400 per month on cigarettes, about a pack and a half or two packs per day, you'd be able to save almost $650k for retirement in 30 years by diverting the funds to a decent moderate growth fund.

Thanks for the info guys - just needed to get a rough idea for a project.

$5 - $8 here in Wisconsin.

Ditto in Illinois-

And sympathy to the dudes in Oz- I was there last year and was stunned to pay 14.00+ a pack, and it's considerably more today- those fuckers REALLY don't want you to smoke with the National Health care, etc.

Coming to a US state near you soon, thanks to YoBamacare.
