Studio Apartment: $400
Utilities: $25
Internet + Cable: Included in my rent
Car: Paid For
Gas: $5/month max. Bike and walk everywhere
Phone: Free through Gizmo5 and GrandCentral
Food: $10-25 a week

Damn, where do you live?

holy shit, some of you must be living in poverty. I spend between $700-$900 on cigarettes and gas in a month.

Some of us don't live in a city which cuts down the price a lot, like me I live in the country in a deprived town where the main sources of work are shutting down like a bastard and prices have dropped over the years.

Its picking up now but I just laugh because none of it effects me except for the fact that I can pick up real cheap ass property.

everybodys rent seems really cheap.
I pay $1500 a month rent - small 2 bedroom part of duplex.
That the price you pay if you live near the beach, buts its still a few miles inland.

So cal is not cheap. My brothers looking to buy a small 1 story 3 bedroom house in a ok neighborhood, with prices starting a 1.1 - 1.3 mil.

550 for rent + utility + internet + phone
300-400 for food
80 for NY subway, 40 for NJ subway
around 200 for other stuff

Springfield, MO... at this apartment complex.

For that quality...its well good value! I'm going to move to a 2 bedroom apartment costing $1900 and compared to what your living in, it looks poor. Mine looks like a state issued council house. Your studio over here would cost around $2k per month.

Geezuz, your living expenses are outrageously cheap. I love the idea of moving back to the country, but it's too expensive... and I thought my rent was cheap at $1,100.00... damn.

Food: $10-25 a week

I think I eat that in one meal...

Mortgage - 3K
Car payments - 1K
Food - 1K
Kids private school education - 1K
Utilities - 300-500
Gas - about 500 a month these days
And I don't even want to think about property taxes...

I live in Los Angeles. Can't believe how low some of your living expenses are...

Any of you cheap bastards have health insurance?

My family plan with BCBS is $800 alone.

That is damn close to my family plan. After gas it is much more. Living in the sticks makes everything an adventure.

My Dr's office 2 1/2 hours away, one way.
My Son's Dr's office 3 1/2 hours away, one way

Each of us have an appointment this weekend which means I loose 2 days of work to make the round trip. I'll probably spend 9-10 hours traveling just for 20 minutes of Dr. appointments.

This IS the most beautiful place on earth though, hands down. That makes it all worth it.

2000 Rent (moving out soon!)
350 Medical Insurance
190 Car Insurance
250 Car Payment
1000 Food Entertainment (Don't get out much)
125 Internet plus cell phones
250 misc. shit

$6k per month, bare minimum, yeah, bay area.

LOL same. If I had the extra cash I'd be purchasing a foreclosure somewhere in the southbay

like $2K per month
$900 month morgage
$50 a month internet
$400 a month for salaries of 2 maids, house boy and driver
$500 month for food (this includes shit like cleaning products, and shit that makes the house go, to be honest i am not 100% what it for :) )

I like your expenses better

That's how I look at it, though I live in a suburb of a somewhat major city ( technically I have their city police, water, etc). It's a place where there isn't much in the way of "real" jobs except for a couple specialties. I dont care because I dont need to live where there are jobs. And I pay my wife to stay home rather than make $7/hr with a degree.

That mobile number trick is fucking awesome. Im going to try that. I just threw out my Verizon phone and called them and canceled, they were shocked I would cancel. Fuckers.

Total bill each month: $9900

Okay lets see...

Rent: $1000
Mobile Phone: $150
Food: $400
Beer & Nights Out: $600
Cable TV & Broadband: $100
Electic & Gas: $160

Plus all the other random shit I buy...

So thats $2410 a month... Good thing am moving back to my parents for a few months to save abit of cash up haha..

mortgage - $3000
food - $500
utilities - $200 (non-business)
other - $1000 (entertainment, clothes etc.)
petrol - $100 (don't drive much)
superannuation - $1200
child care - $150
insurance - $200

This is for me, wife and 2 year old. We have cut down a LOT recently which has been really great. Unfortunately the weak US dollar and higher local interest rates have hit us hard. Australia is NOT a cheap place to live anymore :(

After seeing what everyone else is spending I don't feel so bad. My monthly budget is right at $4,000 ($1100 is rent). But that's for a family of six living about 8 blocks from the beach. But, my budget when I lived in Arkansas was only $2,500 ($350 mortgage payment on a place bigger than where I'm at now). So my current budget seems a bit high to me still.
