Hey all,

so... as SMO/SMM is getting more and more popular these days, I'm wondering what Social Media Marketers are typically charging today for developing a basic SM strategy for a client?

say the client wants you to start and initiative for them on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, including Fan Page creation, 1-4 daily posts on all 3 platforms, following users/adding friends with similar interests etc... what would you charge them on a monthly basis?

Cheers

Agencies - 5K a month
People who don't know what they fuck they are doing - Couple hundred bucks

Results for a direct response campaign? Shitty either way.

meh, i charge $75/hour + setup. But only if the product is viable, eg. Small cosmetic company came to me wanting social media, so I contacted all the small to large youtubers who did how-to's and reviews on skin care and make-up products, sent them all samples, they did reviews etc. One in HK with a lot of subscribers said how good it was and within a month they had completely sold out.

But if you sell tap fittings and shit, i'd say stick with seo..

waste of time

90% of the small companies trying it with SM are wasting there fucking time. It awesome sauce as a branding tool if you know what the fuck you are doing.

Branding, customer service and one could make the argument for retention. As an acquisition channel? Really, really tough...
