how to find out where an old site was hosted?

is there a site you can go to in order to find out where a site used to be hosted?

like maybe a site where you enter the domain name and it would come up with the name of the hosting company ,whether it is hosted there now or was hosted there before.

what other services do this?

I like netcraft.com but a bunch of sites still show up as unknown host...

if anyone has more sites that do this it would be a really big help.
