This morning gas was selling for $3.48 per gallon, but by lunch time ( when I got around to filling up) I had to pay $3.99 per gallon. Some of the gas stations had already run out of gas by then, so I felt lucky to have topped everything off - but it still makes me SO MAD! Plus, when I was at the bank, a boy whose Uncle works down at one of the refineries in Texas told him no gas would be shipped by truck for a week after the storm. This is going to be a mess! I hope we build some more refineries somewhere else soon. At this point, if Texas goes down, we are all in trouble.

Yeah, last night on the news they said a gas station was charging $6/gallon here in Michigan. In East Lansing here in Michigan, I heard it went up to $4.99/gal.

Crazy crazy

argh damn them and all their knocked over houses for messing with our gas prices!!!

next time can't they just not be hit by a hurricane??? plz?!

No son, you misunderstand me. I grew up on the Gulf Coast and have rode out many a hurricane in my lifetime - I in no way blame the poor souls in the path of the storm. The good people of Texas and Louisiana are not the ones engaged in Price Gouging. I am mad at the People who own the Gas Stations.

I live 300 miles inland now, in North Alabama ( no where near landfall ) and yesterday the Price Gouging began. They even said on the news last night that stations in Tennessee ( close to me) were charging over $7.00 per gallon. These gas stations owners are taking advantage of the public.

ok cool... because thats exactly what 'they' (the oil corps) want us to believe, subconciously blaming the hurricane for oil prices...wat a joke. Oil prices are up because they want us paying more, and we willing do.
Just looking for another excuse to rip us off again and again.

I'm getting a electric car asap

This afternoon, the cheap gas was up to $4.19. That's almost $1.00 higher than yesterday morning.

on vacation right now near franklin, nc. there was almost a riot at a gas station here that CNN covered last night (lines 1/2 mile down the road). Paid $5.09 this morning before almost every station ran out of gas around here.

drove up here yesterday from St. Pete, FL and paid $3.30 or so yesterday. over $1.50 jump in a day
