The above was filed today by the Venable law firm asking "TO WITHDRAW APPEARANCE AS COUNSEL OF RECORD FOR HYDRA LLC."
After Hydra fell behind in its payment obligations, Venable contacted Hydra in December 2009 and was told, for the first time, that a California state court judge appointed a receiver for Hydra pursuant to a Stipulation for Appointment of Receiver and Preliminary Injunction in Aid of Receiver filed by and agreed upon by one of Hydra’s members (a living trust of which Hydra’s Chief Executive Officer Zac Brandenberg is the trustee) and Hydra itself. Venable then learned through counsel for the receiver that the court ordered the sale of all of Hydra’s assets to a new company formed by Brandenberg named Hydra Group LLC, f/k/a Marlboro Investment Group, and that the new company would not assume any debt owed to Venable. Counsel for the receiver then confirmed that Hydra has no assets.

Here, Hydra “fail[ed] substantially to fulfill an obligation to the lawyer regarding the lawyer’s
services” within the meaning of Maryland Rule of Professional Conduct 1.16(b)(5) by breaching its obligation to pay Venable $486,531.72 for services provided and costs incurred by Hydra concerning this litigation.

I would just like to say that my company has not had any problems recently dealing with HYDRA. Yea they went through some issues but what company can say they have never had issues? It really sucks that it all had to be made public the way it did. But all you haters that can't stand to see a company pull through something that most of you could never imagine yourselves ever having to face, I say let it go! If you don't feel comfortable dealing with them right now, then just sit back and watch them. And in 6 more months take another look and I would be willing to bet that they are still standing. I say to HYDRA keep your head up and keep your ethics up. Continue to show that your affiliates can count on you and when the smoke clear you'll be back to where you were a year ago.

I have been doing a decent amount of business with Hydra since 2008. While I have had a few payment issues in the past, for instance, not telling me that my weekly payment will now be arriving a day later which was annoying.

However, since then the payments have been on time and despite all the drama going on I am getting payments as expected.

All making new threads like this do is turn off new affiliates and give Hydra a bad name with those who are just starting (Why go with a network with so many problems when others have none?). If you get attacked on another thread please free to defend yourself, but don't start stirring up shit if you aren't ready to provide proof (court docs) of everything you say and finish this whole argument.

This is just another reason to go with a network that is transparent. Just another reason to get to know the inner workings of the network you work with. Just another reason to know the people running the network. And most importantly just another reason to stay on top of what your network is doing, besides paying you.

On the money. This thread isn't helping hydra. As a new affiliate looking for networks, I can assure you that there are no shortages of choices. Payout is critical for sure, but equally important is how they run their operation and if it's solid. My experience with hydra so far has been nothing short of arrogance. They don't answer their phone, they take 6 weeks to process applications, and they leverage their company to the point of bankruptcy on free trial scams (gee, no one saw that one coming?). Where do i sign up?
