Hydra Important

btw: apparently hydra is announcing a big partnership on april 20th at ad tech.. ppc.bz says so.
Can you link to it? I couldn't find it searching the site.

As for Hydra, they're an excellent company to deal with. They remind me of Adteractive back in the day (maybe still, haven't dealt with them in years). Still, people here are probably somewhat young in the business world if they assume that personnel changes don't have a major impact in small or medium sized companies (sometimes even large companies, e.g. Apple). And the personnel changes at Hydra that are known are pretty crucial. Anyone who has lived through the last decade or so of this industry knows it's littered with companies that were great to work with until they got bought, canned their staff or what have you. Affiliate Fuel (Experian Interactive!) is the most recent corpse of a company that was quite dynamic and completely tanked after changing direction, but there have been others. Azoogle became a lot less fun to deal with for a while, but eventually turned it around and is back to a top notch company. Companies like Linkshare simply stood still (as does most of the industry in development terms, frankly, but that's another topic). If this announcement is a "partnership" (often an acquisition, or roughly the same thing via an injection of capital) then it could be rough for people working with Hydra. If it's just internal politics, well, they've still gotten rid of, and lost some core staff. Either way, I'm sure everyone hopes they remain the same great company to deal with, I do and people I know aren't making any changes to their dealings with respect to this news, but at the same time many companies simply do not survive as they once were after they lose the personalities that made them what they were and at a time like this it's a good idea to hedge your bets because it is common to see a correlated effect on service quality when there's a loss of quality personnel.

Anyhow, it's all speculation. All there is to do now is see what shakes out and deal with it accordingly. Hopefully what shakes out will be what was already there, because they've been a great company.

I think sumit is cool. Do you?

i had to delete it due to the fact that i didn't realize i wasn't supposed to post it... the gist is that they are launching some new testing software or some shit though.

Back in the day, Hydra's core group included Matt Rhoades. Probably the best affiliate manager out there that I worked with.

you're presumptuous to think there aren't real businesses being run out here. Hello, we're in an industry that's like six years old basically, you try to prepare for an industry where the tools and methods are still being realized and formalized and requires you to work fucking 80 hours a week. You better believe your kid's marketing course at college will be Performance Marketing 101 in 10 years.
.

Funniest shit of the year so far! :1orglaugh::1orglaugh:

ummm, i belittle wf members all the time on here. who the fuck are you to be talking shit anyway, aside from an obvious hydra shill?

SHILL??? okay right i stand to gain so much from saying that HYDRA gets a lot of love on these boards. First, how does talking shit to people closely aligned with Hydra make me a shill? That's OBVIOUSLY who posted the info.

I'll inform any C-Level type I want that thinks real businesses aren't being run out here by affiliates. In fact, it's presumptuous to think that many affiliates don't aspire to emulate the management structure of the big players in this industry.

but i guess the majority of affiliates that are fucking tweens and who don't know how to communicate on business terms, have created this perception.

Actually, retard, this business is entirely run by affiliates (excluding the in-house teams at the networks). Networks are just middlemen taking a cut of what we rake in. I have never met a single big affiliate (5figs+ a day) who wants to "emulate the management structure" of any network. Those that do have already started networks, I guess.

And you didn't answer the most important question: Who the fuck are you, and why should we care about your shill whining?

lol i love the epeen coming out with 5 figs a day talk, what do you want screenshots now...who's being the retard? really, sorry for being so verbiose...

i didn't know i had to fucking spell out for you...what else could i mean by emulate their management structure...if you team up with other affiliates go direct on a niche and bring others in and now you're getting the juice from both ends..what else could i fucking mean? what business model and structure could i possibly be talking about...how were a4d and c2m not big affiliates at one point, and it seems like every other month there is a new affiliate run network...

and save the who the fuck are you for your IRC...
