Smart man...I didn't even know what you were talking about till I looked it up.

That brings up something that I totally never thought of, but seems so obvious. Put up sites about the next hot thing. Imagine having all of the good ipod domains.

Like everything else Microsoft releases, it changes the CODE NAME before the product is actually released

You don't see anyone calling Windows Vista by the name Windows Longhorn anymore, do you? how about Windows Whistler?
 
but then again, who says they won't change it again, o god I hope they dont change, or else I might need to hit the streets .. good bye WF
 
If they change the name, then you wasted a few bucks. If they don't...you may hit the jackpot.

Smart move. I wish I had gotten one of the domains when they announced the nintendo wii.
 
Heh... I guess I'm a jerk for always hoping companies keep changing their names as much as possible just to make it harder for domain squatters and MFA spammers.

When Wii was announced I was able to at least nab a few .net domains for projects I am planning on. Sucks that so many were just bought in bulk by bastards just looking to resell. Could have had a few .coms if it weren't for the resellers :(

Yeah nothing pisses me off more. I guess everyone is just trying to make a buck, and these domain squatters are no different, but still pisses me off.
 
I spent 30-45 mins checking every possible combinations and names and sedo for some latest registered ones, they are going fast, I just caught the news in google today like few hours ago.
