It's such a stupid thing to get aggravated about, but it absolutely drives me fucking crazy when someone sends you a text, you respond, and then you never get a response back after that...when a response is necessary.

I mean they fucking started the conversation, the least they can do is have the decency to finish it up. Or even worse, you send a friend a text, and you never get a response at all. When you know damn well that they're texting 24/7 and it's not like they didn't get your text.

Same with emails. Someone sends you an email which requires a response, so you respond, waiting to hear back, ....and nothing. Why bother sending the email if you have no intention of seeing the conversation through? Life was so much simpler when you had to use your rotary dial and actually call someone to communicate.

Oh crap, I forgot about that one. So damn annoying.

On the flip side of that, I get pissed when I shoot someone a quick text about something, and then they have to call you to continue the exchange. I just want to say "C'mon man, I'm texting you because I don't want to fucking talk on the phone, then you go an foul it all up by calling me. Just text me back like you're supposed to and we can keep this friendship alive".

haha but im talking about when you keep going back and forth... and you are just getting tired of texting and u know its easier to just call
 
i hate it when my dad calls every time and leaves a voicemail letting me know it's him and what time he called.

i also can't stand fuckers who will call repetitively 3x in a row thinking i'll answer if they call more.
 
What's even worse is when you try to buy something off of craigslist, the faggot says I'll call you at X time tomorrow, then doesn't call/answer the next day.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. There's a definite text-etiquette that only certain people pay attention to. This has happened with every form of technology/communication like IM, email, text, chat, etc. etc. etc.

I too hate the parent call with the day/time, etc. But my mom takes shit to another level by always marking her message as 'Urgent' so her voicemail goes right to the top.

And with her EVERYTHING is fucking urgent.

I hate it when I text people and they call me. If I wanted to talk to you I would have called you.

This grinds my gears as well.
 
I've never sent a text, and never plan to.

As for all the anguish at what others do, set expectations.

"Mom, fair warning. If you mark another voice-mail urgent, and I don't think it's urgent, every future voice-mail from you gets deleted. Your decision. Test me."

Every single person in my life - friend or family, young and old - knows what to expect from me. It's no coincidence that I don't confront this drama.

I hate it when people text you instead of calling you. You then have to keep texting them for 20 minutes when they could have just called you and had the same conversation in 3 minutes.
 
Well unfortunately for me, most people in my life love to talk on the phone like FOREVER, so I try to stick to text whenever possible.
