So I took Johns $100 free offer with Yahoo about a week ago and added $5. set up a landing page and made ads etc for my keywords, was very specific for my ad and the keyword etc. they say what 2 to 4 days for aproval right so I set it and forget it. get up the next morning to see if anything has happened and I have not hundreds but thousands of clicks. my credit card has been hit 2 times for over $1000 each time. I am about to blow a gaskit(sp) then I look at my landing page stats, I had adsense on the page as well as the service I was pimping, this page works very well in other ppc engines so anyway I make money but the thing I am not happy about is the way it happened. Yahoo needs to improve there backend and fast. This could cause lots of problems for them. I wrote an email but I think alot of people need to get together and make it known that for new people using there system can be a very bad experience. any ideas?

Edit: I've haven't used yahoo yet but I've heard of this happening several times and I agree that isn't right.

But at least you profited from it, it could have went the other way.

Xrproto- close to that yea, the problem though is the way yahoo's system works, I probably should not have added that to the thread because it is not really relavaint to the problem so I am editing

ummm am I the only one who knows how to set a daily max?
haha, I guess so. I didn't figure that out until AFTER I got charged $30 on my CC. Unlike Chris, I did lose a little money. Their interface is really slow and stupid, hell I even like 7search's better. At least it works in Firefox...

Yes John I am an idiot, see when you are used to using prducts that have the user in mind then you get lazy with the crap that yahoo callse there back end. I don't hate it once I figured it out but it takes to much time and there is to much crap!

I always set the daily max first then worry about adding lots of keywords, etc.

I have noticed that many of the ppc interfaces are tricky as hell for both depositing money and setting limits

Their interface is crap and the fact that they don't let you turn off auto-deposit is crap. Stupid business practices...

You can email them and have them do it manually though. There's a hidden "Support Center" link at the bottom of the page (light grey, doesn't look like a link). Work your way through there and you can find a form for email.

Oh! and don't touch the billing options after doing this. Any one change to it will reinstate your auto-deposit.

what do you bid for overture usually? is their ctr better than 3rd tier? cuz like if i bid $.10 i won't get any traffic right?

make sure to set your account to prepay deposit. yahoo fucks people over like that.. by automatically charging their cards if they dont do this.
