So the bots or someone is so desperate for a spam post, that they picked ME! ha ha If they only knew how useless it is since I have very little traffic and even an extreme noob like me can figure out the moderate option on WP!

I'll have to try one of the plugins for WP from the link that Jerxs provided. I think there was one for spam. If there wasn't, I'm sure there must be a way to block it.

Jan, next you will be making $1000 a day, it all starts with getting spam for the first time! it is uphill from here baby!

Thank you for the spam block info and links! :)
Today I learned

With Fantanstico WP sign up, no API key
I knew Akismet is already on my theme under plugins, but couldn't figure out about the API key.
I signed up for a WP user account-got my API key! (I had tried w/my other accounts and got nothing).
Downloaded it, went to my dashboard, to plugins, and with a click it was installed!

:) I also learned I can help Katoved with his pesky constipation problem and the source of spam is Jdog!

That Akismet is GREAT! While I was at work, it took care of the spam and I didn't have to mess with it under moderation.

I also could view it to make sure it really is spam (which it all was!) or for those of you who want to keep the "good" links (aka-porn) all to yourself and not share w/your readers, it'll all be together and handy-haha!

I'm good with what I'm using, but am interested how that is different than akismet?

It has only put one real post in spaml-and and I accidently deleted it (completely user error!), rest of the time its been right on.

I was in your shoes Jan a while back, I was getting 2,000 spam a day and didn't have askimet installed so I was going crazy trying to delete it and I couldn't keep up!!! It's definently a life saver!
