I promised my almost 16 year old sister (don't even fucking try you bastards) I'd take her to the premiere of the last Harry Potter tomorrow night at midnight. I've never read one of the books, never seen any of the movies. I'm completely in the dark.

Can anyone set me up with some brief reading or some fuckin youtube videos or something I can watch before I go see this that 1) get me up to speed and 2) doesn't spoil the ending?

Once again, don't fucking ask about my sister.

Took my daughter to see Zookeeper 2 days ago there was a line going out of the place to see Harry, they got there hours before to get in line.. Had security at the entrance of the door to each screen it was playing on. I was like WTF, really for a movie.. I have never seen any of the Harry Pussers movies.

Yeah, I fandangoed the tickets and surprisingly things were all good. I'm not looking forward to wizard hats and shit though, not my bag

Must be a violent bunch watching these movies, hehe.
I've never seen security at movie places.
 
The last half of the series is a bit darker than the first half that's all gee whiz imma wizard. It's hard not to tell you why without spoiling it. It's important to know that Snape killed Dumbledore (the head of the wizard school shit, if you want to know why then check wikipedia b/c omfg this is too long already) and is generally antagonistic towards Harry, but you find out that the whole time Snape was protecting Harry because he was in love with Harry's mother.

Oh and Voldemort is the bad guy trying to take over the world and all that standard shit, which on a basic level includes killing Harry Potter. Obviously Harry Potter has to kick his ass.

Yes, yes it is. Harry Potter is a classical hero in a sense modeled after the orphan archetype established by Dickens and you can see his transformation as he battles Voldemort who represents his darker side. Blah, blah, blah. You're right - this last one is going to be great.

I have all the books, and all of the movies to date. Of course, I'm also a reading and English teacher, so anything that completely transforms the genre of children's literature is okay by me. I even like Twilight for the same reason.

We're going to see it in a couple of weeks probably. I don't like to sit shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers and I already know how it ends, so I'm okay with waiting.
