hahaha busted thats what you get learning off discovery channel instead of reading books. You mean, Tesla?
i exact match the big keywords and also phrase match the same keywords in the same adgroup. i only use broad when i'm scaling out then move the winners over. i barely see much difference between the ctr on exact or phrase maybe a point here or there. if you got the ad right it generally works on most match variations (most of your competition is doing the same after all)*. you have to split the adgroups of course when you go wide. ads will not cross lateral markets within a niche. well i've never found a mulit purpose ad that maintains a high enough ctr anyway. i've never seen one when researching either.1 question, i think you mentioned before that you use broad match keywords, how do you maintain the high CTR when you move them to new account, or do you just use exact match?
You mean, Tesla?
Excellent post. The best post of the day, probably.

No, no. Hans Tessler was the one that actually did all the work. "Tesla" merely took the credit. The part that most people fail to mention is that Nikola Tesla was actually just a character that Edison created to hype up his inventions by adding a bit of drama (for publicity). TESLA is actually an acronym he created that stands for: Thomas Edison Sells Lights, Asshole

Right. The book "Linkbait by Edison" (publication date: 1900 Feb 29) explains it all.

You guys who lost >$1000 in the beginning, do you think you would have benefited if you'd have had more patience, waited and read more and absorbed more stuff from places like here and threads like this or do you think that losing the money to start with was really an inevitability?
Oh and let me reiterate the suggestion by sitpomk to read that thread by imagesandwords about creating good converting ads . Here's the link. It's fucking awesome.
Really important advice i think i read on a blog somewhere:
When you're first starting out and you're worried about losing money, start with low priced items like email submits or dating. These cost less to make profitable. Tweaking and perfecting a campaign where you're bidding $0.15 and making $2.00 is going to be much easier to make profitable than a campaign where you're bidding $4 for a conversion of $30...
