The IconBuffet icons are great little freebie icons for designers, in case you haven't seen them.

Basically they release free icon sets periodically (they have over a hundred "free" sets so far) but the catch is, you have to use points that they dole out once a month in order to receive them, and you can only receive them from other people, or as a random freebie once a month from the system.

Also, you can upgrade to "VIP" to get more points per month to spend in receiving and sending icon sets. It's a smart little system to supplement their paid icon business.

If anyone else collects them and would like to trade, drop me a PM. I have all but 18 sets.

iconbuffet.com is the URL if you want to see, or sign up.

I started with it, but their registration system is driving me insane.

Well if you have/can get any of the following:

Amsterdam Ephemeral
Alexandria Monstrous
Claiborne Nature
Dresden Symbol
Durango Office
Halifax Knick-Knacks
IconBuffet Century
Kyoto Geometry
Marseilles Astronomical
Modenatroid
New York Neanderthal
Oslo Symbol
Shasta Classroom
Shasta Kaboom
Taipei Tiny Finale
Tokyo Giant Robots
Tonkawa Tiles
Tower Grove Power

I can give you a zip file with all of mine in it in exchange.

I might have some of those.
I'll try to gain access again. I really like the icons, but their system sux.

Aren't the prices these icon sets charge for their sets *insane*? That's why I'm going to be designing a few sites (just as good if not better looking) and offering them for a shitload cheaper. I don't see any reason to resell icon sets for more than $50.

I've had problems in the past with their site being really freaking slow, but the last few weeks it's been great.

The thing with IconBuffet is you have to sign up, then ask people to send you packs in their forums. They add you to their friends list, you add them to your friends list, and they send you icon packs.

The cool thing is, you can sign up as many accounts as you want, and ask for different packs, and you'll eventually be able to collect them all (although that's against their TOS.)

But yeah, dreamache, people sell icon packs for big bucks. If you can use Illustrator and Photoshop you can crank out simple icons all day long. Things in an office. Things in a school. Things at a grocery store. Simple toys. Computer equipment. Cars. Trucks. Boats. Buildings. Weather. Tools. Signs. You make it once, you sell it forever.

It's like selling ebooks, but a lot more profitable if you have even a little bit of talent.
