So, I just very recently launched my first product on clickbank. I've been looking for ways to get affiliates.

First off, let me give you a summary of my product to get more focused and relevant feedback. My product is an ebook teaching people how to create effective presentations in powerpoint. It focuses on frameworks/methodologies practiced by management consultancies (e.g. mckinsey, bain, bcg, booz, etc.) in developing a cohesive presentation flow/storyline, structuring slide content, and designing slides (e.g. which charts to use for what purposes, font sizes, etc.). It is not so much focused on how to use powerpoint from a technical standpoint (e.g. keystroke walk-thrus), tho there is some content related to that (e.g. keyboard shortcuts).

I believe the target market is fairly broad... essentially anyone who needs to make corporate presentations, from MBA students to c-level execs.

On a high level, I've done the following...
- Adjusted my commission rate to be fairly competitive: 75% for a $50 product + bonus
- Created an affiliates resources page with your basic tools (including free downloads, articles/tutorials, banners)
- I've also started an affiliates challenge. I posted this on a separate forum. The challenge was to make 100+ sales in a 30-day period and I will pay them 100% commission on all sales. The immediate feedback I received was that my challenge was too difficult, being that my product seemed too niche. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this too.

Anyway, any ideas/thoughts would be greatly appreciated! And, just to clarify, I am soliciting suggestions on ways to build affiliates -- not traffic.

Thanks.

Yeah it can be somewhat difficult to attract affiliates on CB without a high converting offer. In most cases you need to have decent gravity to get their attention and you can only do that by promoting your own offer initially. I recommend setting up like 5 diff CB accounts and rotating sales through their to boost your gravity.

There is actually an excellent post buried here on Blackhatting your way to the top of CB:

Slap on an offer giving away a free iPad to the top affiliate. Would that help? I hope so :)

So, the 30-day challenge I put up is valued at much greater than an iPad. however, I haven't received much traction, it seems.

@ OP
IMO your main sales page is lacking. Ok I won't hold back -- it sucks. Its like 4 lines and only takes up about a quarter page --- WTF!?! The facts that you list below the fold are to me quite dry--and may not even be read. When I'm shopping for any offer to promote, the sales page is often the deciding factor in my choices.
I think your product is a good idea though. GL.

Have you split tested this against a single long-form sales page? Look at the top 10-50 performing CB offers for comparison.

There are lots of things that you could do to improve the program - some of the following points:

- What are the best selling products? You have a fairly wide variety of branches, but are likely to produce better results if you focus on your best selling products.
- Got a minute? Dryer carefully controlled when available.
- Do you expect to sell certain products particularly well in the coming months? If yes, mention them in a newsletter to your affiliates.
- Any step you can take to improve the conversion rate will be beneficial for the company and have a ripple effect for members, which makes their offer more attractive.
- You may have some members who are already generating more sales per channel.

The reason why they need to learn Powerpoint should be the focus of the page (whereas you have it at the bottom). Right now the only people who will sign up are people who were already thinking about trying to learn Powerpoint, whereas you could be converting so many more people by convincing them they need to learn it and making that part more prominent, and then the details about your program less prominent.
