No real story. Didn't suck dick for cocaine or live on the streets for any period, my life isn't glamorous like cakes' ... but that might be why he needs to ball and I don't.

Middle class kid, had a kid myself when I was ~22. Worked my ass off for the 1st 6 years of her life but fell in love with programming. Built my shit on the side while juggling 3 jobs and a headache of a marriage.

My only real assets are
  • strong, supportive family
  • staunch (old school) Republican values
  • Self taught for all the important stuff
  • Deep rooted contempt for those in power
IM shit is not hard but takes time. Once you've got skills, paying the bills isn't something that you have to work too hard for. Just start somewhere and realize that this business isn't a sprint, it's a marathon. Never stop thinking about your empire.

Common misconception on WF: $500k+/year DOES NOT make you rich when a network/advertiser can shave your balls whenever they want .. You are almost always at their mercy if PPC is your only game.
 
Learned my lesson the hard way at 19-22 (made and banked 6 figures, shit fell apart at 22 and stayed apart for 5 years before diving back into success).

Now - Yes, bank account is ballin' - however I live WAY beneath my means, and am in control of 90% of my business (not at the mercy of networks). I like the above erect - you're absolutely right re sprint vs. marathon, and to build your empire not just short-term flips, offer to offer...

I look at my past now as a damn good lesson and I appreciate having gone through it. Risk awareness is now through the roof, thinking 30 steps ahead and projecting next year not just tomorrow or my next campaign.

And of course money management in general at this age and level is important so back to 'living way beneath my means' < Doesn't mean I have a million and live like a bum, but it's also not 'have $xxx,xxx worth but the bank actually owns it all, because I have to have a baller house and sick ride'. That shit comes and goes - build your net worth and only make BIG moves instead of constantly slowly scaling your cost of life along with your growing income (have also learned to live by a 'fuck a credit score' way of life - i have money/liquid, way more important to me'). Think too many look at credit as a good thing.
