Oh. I got a story for ya russ.
I was a lifeguard throughout High School.
A kid was constantly roughhousing. Pulling his friend underwater, choking them, dunking them. I could tell his friend was NOT having a good time, he was on the verge of crying.
I told the boy once to stop being so aggressive, or else I'll pull him out. He obviously just didn't care what I had to say. Less than 60 seconds later he jumps off the side of the pool onto his friend (which is against the rules anyway).
I tell the kid to get out of the water, he tells me "I don't have to listen to you." He is about 10 or so, he should know better. I blow my whistle (it usually embarrasses kids as every suddenly looks around for the person that got whistled at) and I speak loudly and clearly "Get out of the pool, now."
He gets out looking pissed, I signal him to come to me, and I tell him to stand here for 10 minutes and not to move. You'll be allowed back in the pool after that time is up.
Suddenly a goliath of a lady with a fire-red face is fast walking towards me. The throws out some incredibly hick-sounding sentence with a bunch of curse words about how I have no authority over her child, how she payed to use this pool and I don't have the right to take him out, how I'm a punk-ass teenager, yadda yadda yadda.
With the coolest face I've ever have, I say:
"Your son is sitting out for 10 minutes, I DO have that authority. If you don't like it, the YMCA is a few miles down the street. I'm sure they would love your business."
She then tells me I deserve to be jumped by a gang of n*ggers and shot for dead.
I tell her to get out of my pool, as expected, she refuses. I get my supervisor, he tries to come into it with a nice attitude and hear her side of the story, I think he immediately realized she was an idiot, and she still refused to leave, so we called the police and she made a fool of herself in front of about 100 people as the police escorted her out of the building.
