iPhone 4S = disappointment = Android here I come

Is anyone else actually stoked about the iPhone 4S? Doesn't seem to be the sentiment this time around.

With that said, looking for a 4G android device either on Verizon or AT&T that is out or will be out within a month. Needs to be within a month because I have a warranty credit that expires then. Any recommendations?

I guess people are pissed they don't get a v5 of the iphone and went apeshit on their server.

I was actually looking at the Galaxy S or Bionic the other week. The Galaxy S just seemed better to me but neither seemed like they were anything to just go out and buy right now so I'm waiting.
 
The Galaxy S II caught my attention more than the Bionic. Anything I'm missing? Is one easier to root than the other? Can they tether (for free) once rooted?

The thing that is better for me about the Bionic is that it's on Verizon which has practically full 4g coverage of my city. Galaxy S II on ATT does not have 4g coverage in boston.

There is no difference in rooting. The underlying OS is the same, just the bloatware and styling are different.
 
Totally disappointed in this release. Expected much more from Apple. Hopefully samsung will have a great release next week. Nexus Prime?
 
So they made Siri exclusively only for 4s as selling point when in fact it works on all iOS.

Guess more and more guys are jumping on the Samsung Galasy S II, anybody using it already ? Preferably some former iPhone owner who can compare the two phones, would love to get some opinion on this.

This is why the Bionic is going to be the better choice for you. It's a close race with the Galaxy S II only being slightly better in certain areas, but the 4G should be the difference maker for your situation in my opinion.

I hope Samsung supports the Galaxy S II better than the original Galaxy S which I have.

Many people with the original Galaxy S are still waiting for a GPS fix and an update for the shitty RFS file system lag. The fixes will probably never arrive.

If I didn't know how to root my phone and install a 3rd party ROM with most of the issues "fixed", I would probably hate it.
 
I'm sorry didnt know everyone was looking for a whole new unnecessary cosmetic change on the iphone 4s.

to me the 4s is a good upgrade. I mean it went to a dual core processor for an already good ass phone.

Android phones are the equivalent of windows computers, the people who love them are the people who haven't used an apple product before

I used an apple in first grade, and it sucked balls. I'll stick to my custom pc.

Get fucked, I have a mac, I fucking HATE it. I'm 10x more efficient on linux, and 3x as efficient on windows. Crapple can suck a big floppy one.
 
I had a feeling they'd only release the 4S. Man, my 3GS feels slow as fuck but I think I'm still going to wait it out - I use the apps I use now, and switching to android and changing the way I do things seems like a hassle.

Hopefully ios5 makes it worthwhile to stick, and maybe the iphone 5 will be a june release next year?

ha, I had to spend a week on an Ubuntu machine a few weeks back, I felt like I was developing on a game of jenga. Fuck up one config file and shit breaks, close the lid and you have to restart the machine. It was like they haven't been building Ubuntu for over SEVEN YEARS, shit felt like it was in beta still.

To each his own I suppose. For us ruby coders, a mac is like heaven.
