Is Obama going to fix things in the US, or just more of the same?

I want to know what everyone thinks about this one. Can the big O really change anything in the economy or will everything just keep going the way it is?

I think the act of electing Barack Obama changes the world more than anything. But he's still a politician, a minor tool of a big government.

So I say more of the same government, but it shakes up the culture.

This is impossible to predict...

What Obama said in his victory speech was spot on: Obama isn't the change we need... it's the opportunity for change we need. If change really does happen, it will because PEOPLE change.

Americans need to step up to the plate and start living like patriotic people who WANT the nation to be better... not like lazy citizens who EXPECT the government to do it for them. Instead of following politics an hour a day, how about volunteering 1 hour a week with some community service?

One person - even President of the US - can't singlehandedly put the country (and the world) on the right track. Its about a lot more than that.

J Kennedy.

Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country

But that's the opposite of what Obama talks about.

Who the President is pretty much irrelevant. The greatest long term power he has is probably in his Supreme Court appointments.

The Federal Reserve will still bleed us dry.

The aliens will still abduct unsuspecting people and do anal probes.

The French will still suck.

Facebook will still disapprove good ads.

Google will still slap the snot out of us.

No matter what Obama does you'll find a way to make it seem like he's the bad guy.

He's the president now, just give him a chance, and if he does actually screw up then you can start complaining.

Dude, he won, its time to get over it now. There are better things to do than posting bitter comments about things that aren't going your way.

Okay fine. Let him do his thing. Its historic, in the 60s black people were getting hosed down. Now we have a black president. Great Progress. Congrats to him and to all.
I'll continue working my ass off. If my taxes go up more then 10%, I'm going to cheap on my taxes. I pay enough already.
