I don't think HootSuite is good for my current campaign. Can I use it to automatically follow anyone who mentions a certain term?

TweetAttack contacted me back. The Free version hasn't yet worked around some Twitter changes, so he offered me a discount coupon and 7 day moneyback. I'm thinking about taking it. October was my best month ever so I might as well spend something.

But really, all I want to do is follow about 5000 people (slowly) who mention a certain name and slowly reply to them with something they'd definitely be interested in. Is that so hard anymore?

I'm an SEO guy, not Viral or Social (yet)... hence my suckage. Thanks for the helps.
 


Automated software really has its disadvantage most of the times. I have use before different software on my social media account and it seems that bad things happens often times. I just had hired someone to manually maintain my twitter as well as facebook accounts.
 
The short answer to all this is Twitter changed there authentication oAuth, so some apps didn't upgrade, and if they did , they would have to register an app, and everyone would have to share that api key/calls.

Twitter doesn't like full automation anyway. it's in there TOS, if your found with JUST tweeting rss feeds, then they'd consider you a bot. That doesn't mean scheduled tweets is going to get you banned , but it if you have just scheduled tweets, your more likely to get suspended. If you range out the source of your tweets, your tweets will come across like it's more real and not 'fully automated', I wouldn't follow more then a few hundred per day, and don't unfollow too much.
