What professional/military credentials do you posses that gives any credit to your interpretation? This reddit commentary is about as bad as the 9-11 truther footage I have watched.

At this point ONLY the people that were there know what happened. What we do know is that the terrorist/hamas sympathizers WERE warned that they would be stopped before hand and that they DID have weapons on board the ships.

If you provoke ANY countries military blockade, you must expect a bad outcome. The terrorist sympathizers had better be glad it was Israel and not China, Russia etc.

This is akin to running a police road block and then being pissed off when they drag me out of the car and beat my ass.
 
The fact that this was in international waters and the IDF had no right to board the ship seems lost somehow.

Am I missing something or were the Israelis never supposed to go onto that ship either way as it was international waters and they had no jurisdiction?

If they did board the ship illegally I can see why they would be attacked seeing that their countries aren't sharing the most friendly relations and that the people on board would be expecting such a massacre.

Three things.

1. This happened in international waters, which means Israel has no rights and their actions were an act of piracy...or since they were in uniform, an act of war against a sovereign nation. The flotilla had full rights to fight back...the fact that they didn't have any weapons(certified by inspectors before they set off) just goes to show that noone expected Israel to be this stupid.

So to use your police example, this would be akin to you running a road block by Mexican Police in Ohio. They simply don't have jurisdiction to pull you over.

2. You can only blockade your own territories or those you are occupying. And Israel has been harping for years, that they are not occupying the Gaza strip.

3. Israel shot up and killed unarmed civilians. That's all that matters. Everything else just piles up on top of Israel's original stupidity.

1: Makes little difference. Everyone knew where these ships were heading. A few miles here and there makes no difference. The result would still be the same if they would have waited for them to come a little bit closer.

2: You can blockade whatever you wish if you have the military power to do so.

3: They were not unarmed. If you attack a soldier with firebombs, knifes, metal bars and try to throw them of the deck, you deserve to get shot.

Again who knows the real story. Did these terrorist/terrorist sympathizers make a move on IDF first? If they did it doesn't matter if they were in international waters or not.

I am not so blinded by hatred to aknowledge that if Israel attacked first then they really fucked up and played right into the hands of the terrorist (no difference to me between terrorist or terrorist sympathizers). I just can't see a professional military making such a fucked move like this.

More than likely the terrorist provoked the attack knowing the anti-semite crowd would come out in droves.

To expand on this: I was missing something. Israel has been having a sea blockade of Gaza for quite a while now and they do not allow any ships to pass unless they are inspected as they want to avoid for weapons to be smuggled into Gaza.

I have read at several sources that the ships were warned they could not continue on unless they were searched and they did not stop, which lead to the whole mess. Who shot first, if knives are truly considered weapons in this context etc. I can't argue on since I don't have any good info.

Either way, Europe doesn't like this and there will definitely be pressure from that side. Chances are the US will side with Israel so it will be interesting to see what happens.
