I've always hated the idea of a cruise...

I'm a bit baffled you listed germs as your first reason for not liking a cruise... is this a phobia?

I wasn't really making a list ordered by fear, but it's rare I'll wash my hands in a public restroom and then touch any door handles with my bare hands afterward. Kinda defeats the purpose of washing to start with.

And yeah, I'm a bit germophobic, however that is spelled. I'd never put food in a shopping cart seat, but see other people do it all of the time.

I don't have a huge fear of large ships, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't carry on some hand sanitizer. I'm conscious of a lot of things other people pay no attention to. I still come out of my basement now and then.

I'm not really a fan of how modern cruise ships are constructed so top-heavy, either. I'm not alone there.

Hey guys , I dont have a problem with my megaship...its filling it with fuel that is pissing me off....

They need to fix up the site ASAP, talking about making more sales, its pain in the ass to navigate, not well highlighted "hot deals" and so on. I gave up after 3 minutes.
They are losing serious percentage of sales with a site like this. Major improvement could be done.

Agreed, the UI could be improved. It's all about the 90 day ticker on that site, which requires an email address to be viewed.

Cruise ships are among the cleanest places there are. Extensive screening for contagious diseases when going aboard the ship, hand sanitizers everywhere and they're constantly cleaning the ship.

Yet there are outbreaks of Norovirus and other illnesses all the time on cruise ships. Health Outbreaks at Sea in 2013 << Those are just CDC confirmations, there could be more. The numbers have certainly been going down as it's become a hot topic hurting cruise operator's bottom lines, but it's still nearly one a week with thousands of sick passengers every year.

That is because a cruise ship is a contained environment with thousands of people. Without all the precautions, the numbers would be much much higher. But I agree, there are many outbreaks. While the ships might be very clean, the risk of getting sick is still quite high. Not as high as your average holiday resort though.
